Ignorance and the Bible

How old do you think I am? And why is it important to know my age and that I be young?
20 to 30something. It's not necessarily chronological age but mental. It's not important to me. It's simply an assessment. You're free to hide or lie about your education and age.

In my professional life for 40 years it was part of my job to assess people for fitness for duty. Not just initially, which is usually solved with training and experience, but a continual assessment to note behavioral changes. Illness, relationship and financial issues were the most common causes. Those experiences translate well into the online world.

I read a lot of people saying "You don't know me", "You can't know me from posts" and the like, but they are only fooling themselves. Over dozens, if not hundreds of posts, it's easy to get to know a person's personality.

As with the maxim "A drunk man's words are a sober man's thoughts", anonymous forums offer the unique opportunity to see inside a person's head since the anonymity allows them to be themselves. We all have "off days" which is why the assessment should be continual across many posts and over time. Catching people in lies such as about their age or education is part of the process. JPP has fake doctors and teachers as proved by their lack of knowledge in such professions. Some are mentally ill, some are simply living a fantasy life online, but their base personality still shines through.

FWIW, I'm 69 and earned both a Psych BA and an International Relations MS. You are free to chat, ask questions, etc to assess for yourself if I'm lying or not. :)

Another reason why I know you are young. You're more than welcome. :)

FWIW, I used to be on a Brit atheist forum "Secular Cafe". Even as an agnostic, I tended to piss off the handful atheists who were jerking each other off on the forum. It was interesting but eventually collapsed. It appears it's now on Facebook.

I also belonged to an atheist dominated forum called The Agnostic Forum. Found out after I joined that it was coupled with another forum called The Atheist Forum. As I said, atheists dominated...and got their panties in a knot because I argued from an agnostic perspective. It eventually got so bad that I was not allowed to say anything without a moderator claiming all sorts of things.

The atheist perspective is very poorly represented here in JPP...but even when represented by intelligent individuals is almost the same as a theistic perspective except for the direction it takes on the major question: "Is there at least one god?"

Which explains why so many atheists belong to atheist organizations. :)

If they don't belong formally to an organization, they are still reading the same books and watching the same atheist podcasts, so there definitely is a clubby-nature to atheism. That's why Dawkins and Hitchens sold millions of book, and why message board atheists consistently have the exact same litany of complaints about stories in the Old Testament.

Interesting because I've recently stumbled across a couple of your preferred "talking points" as well from theists online. The one about "concepts" existing. Another one about the infinite number line.

It's like you guys all listen to the same podcasts and listen to the same preachers as well.

Or, hear me out, maybe we are all just thinking through concepts and we should deal with each other with some degree of respect for each other.

I don't think you are some moron who needs talking points, unless you think I am. If you think I am then I am forced to assume that accusations are confessions.

There is literally no one on here who insults Christians to even half the level that atheists are attacked.

Weird isn't it? Atheists terrify believers. So much so that none of them can even understand atheism it is so anathema to them.

They do tend to be a little emotional. LOL

FWIW, I was also on a Christian forum and, like the atheists jerking each other off, I tended to upset the "Holier than Thou" members. Eventually I was banned. Not for any rule violations, but simply for being me. :D

I faced a similar ban on JPP which is why I've decided to put all the MAGAts/Pedo President supporters on ignore for a few months.

How would you know?

Because I post here and I have posted elsewhere. Almost everywhere else the posts by atheists have been more intellectual. Of course this forum if mostly for political comments...so it is understandable that the atheists here are not of prime quality.
It's abundantly clear you don't even begin to understand the fullness of atheism.

It is abundantly clear that you do not understand the absurdity of most atheism. But I am trying to help you with that.

So I'm curious how you could assess what is the best presentation of atheism qua atheism.
I doubt that I am the best presenter of atheism...and have never suggested that I am.

So I am curious about why you are curious about that.

Oh, my poor, poor little atheist. So put upon and mistreated. Do you want a lollipop? 🍭

Another reason why I know you are young, son. You whine like a 20something.

Wow, are you screwed up.

It is my experience that atheists attack Christians so much more than Christians (or any theists) attack atheists...that there is no contest.

Are you trying to sell horse shit the way Trump sells it? By just declaring nonsense to be so?

He's young. Jus' sayin'.

Agreed. Notice that not many MAGAts claim to be Christians. White Nationalist Christians are not Christians. The only person pushing Christianity that I recall off-hand is @Margot . @Jade Dragon is a Christian but isn't pushy about it much less attacking those who do not agree with his beliefs like @gmark77 .

Yes, it appears he is but he doesn't seem to know any better.

Almost all of our knowledge come from reading books, taking classes, watching podcasts, listening to subject matter experts.

There isn't a single poster here who developed their world view independently in a vacuum.

With that said, I am positive the suite and scope of arguments I make generally were not made by other posters here. I'm not in a club or an echo chamber.

The difference between me and intransigent militant atheists, is that I seek information from all sides, I've read books, watched podcasts, viewed debates with atheists, agnostics, Protestant theologians, Buddhist scholars, atheist scientists, Christian scientists, atheist philosophers, Christian apologists, and attempted to check my preconceived notions at the door.

I don't believe I ever said you are a moron.

In the last few years, there haven't been that many fire-and-brimstone threads started by holy rollers here. It would be fun if they did.

I wish.

Seems a bit insulting.

Your bona fides aren't really of interest to me.
Of course you do.

You're a very sensitive young man.

I'm thinking you are lying. You forget that your posts to others and to me are seen by all. I've seen how you interact with others and how you react to my comments. Consistency is a measure of stability. People who react one way to people and another way to others always pique my interest.
