Democrats encouraged it; you have zero reason to complain. It wasn't a very tough law to begin with. It didn't ban booze or drinking, yet reduced drunkeness nationwide. It had been a womens' right issue for decades; seems women didn't really appreciate the beatings and poverty that came with living in a nation of nasty drunks, one that consumed three times more booze than Europe did.
