The Daily injustice report vol. 19

* A US Border Patrol agent has pled guilty to violating a Mexican citizen’s rights when he kicked him, hit him in the stomach with a baton, then threw him to the ground at a Border Patrol Processing Center.

* A New York NY police officer is accused of beating another driver in an off-duty road rage incident. Witnesses say the alleged victim never hit the officer and that the officer started it, but the victim was arrested on assaulting an officer charges while the officer apparently isn’t even facing an investigation.assaulting an officer charge is par for the course in most 'use of force' cases in order to offer some sort of protection to the officer, whether there was an assault or not.

* New York NY has settled a lawsuit for a record $9,900,000 to a man who was wrongfully imprisoned for nearly 20 years after he was framed for a murder he didn’t commit by a police officer who worked as a mafia hit man on the side.

* Three Swoyersville Pennsylvania police officers are the subject of a lawsuit filed by a man alleging that he was falsely arrested for complaining about the off-duty drunken antics of two cops in a bar who were mooning patrons. Apparently he found an on-duty cop in the parking lot and told him what was going on, only to be arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct by that cop and the two troublemakers. The charges were later dropped thanks to surveillance video taken from a bank across the street.there's an example of what i've been talking about. when bad cops get protected by other cops, you know there's more than just 'one isolated incident' which makes you wonder how prevalent that corruption is.

* A St Louis County Missouri police officer is accused of harassing and taking a cell phone away from a man who was recording him during his stop at a DUI checkpoint. The officer then took the man’s keys and searched his car without permission or a warrant but was stopped by his sergeant when he recognized who the man was. Seems the person being harassed was none other than Brett Darrow who made national news in 2006 thanks to a built in surveillance system in his other car that caught a cop flying off the handle and threatening him during a traffic stop. He’s now trying to get a hold of dashcam footage of his latest interaction with the police.further proof that alot of cops don't care about what the law is or whats right and wrong, that it's all about making sure you know they are better than you.

* A New Orleans Louisiana police officer is the subject of a lawsuit filed by the family of a man who died in custody after that cop allegedly put him in a choke hold for 2 minutes during an arrest. That same officer is one of the “Danziger 7″ who are the subject of a federal investigation for shooting unarmed civilians and then covering it up.

* The Welsh Louisiana police chief is under pressure after the city council voted to formally ask him to resign over racist slurs he sent via text messages to his wife during a dispute via his department-issued cell phone.

* Three Grand Junction Colorado police officers have been fired after an investigation into allegations that they slashed several tents and destroyed property at a homeless encampment. The department purchased several new tents that they have been distributing to the homeless to make up for it.no charges are being filed against the officers because the transients refuse to cooperate. fear of retaliation, maybe?

* An Escanaba Michigan police officer received a verbal reprimand for bludgeoning a porcupine to death in front of several families and a group of children at a park. The parents say they expected animal control to come out and relocate the otherwise non-aggressive animal but now they’re left explaining what happened to their bewildered children.from shooting aggressive dogs, to trapping and killing 5 month old kittens (officer said he feared for his safety), to bludgeoning non-violent animals just trying to eat in peace. real classy work there, lou.

* Penn State police have settled a lawsuit for an undisclosed sum to a man who was arbitrarily tackled by police while he was streaking during a college streaking run done each year. The incident left the man with a broken collar bone and other injuries.

* A Pennsylvania State Police Liquor Control Enforcement officer has pled guilty to abusing her position in order to extort over $13,000 from various bar and restaurant owners under her jurisdiction.

* The Detroit Michigan police department is the subject of two lawsuits filed by the ACLU on behalf of two people alleging that they were falsely charged with misdemeanors for doing nothing more than questioning the police.it's instances like these that make me wish that officers would become personally liable for financial repayment to the person issued the ticket or charged and tried.

* Sparta New Jersey has settled a lawsuit for $1,800,000 to two police officers who claimed that they were labeled as “rats” and run out of the department in retaliation for reporting fellow officers for alleged acts of sexual misconduct.need any further proof that bad cops are the majority?

* A Denver Colorado police officer was arrested on several charges including domestic violence, 3rd degree assault and criminal mischief on allegations that he abused his child.there's not enough info in the article to determine if he abused his child or not, but since the accusation was made by his ex-wife, it's possible that these are bogus accusations.

* A Weston Missouri police officer who is already in jail for drug dealing has been sentenced to four more years after pleading guilty to stealing drugs from his department’s evidence room.

* A Schenectady New York police officer has been fired for his role in the beating of a DUI suspect in a McDonald’s parking lot. He’s the 5th officer to be fired or resign in the last two months.

* A Warrensville Ohio police officer has been charged with wire fraud and for filing a false tax return over an alleged $889k ponzi scheme that victimized his fellow officers.

* The police chief of South Miami Florida has been fired but city officials are refusing to say why except that the results of their investigation has been forwarded to state prosecutors for potential criminal charges.

* A Fort Wayne Indiana police officer was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated by state police:

* The Kent County Delaware sheriff has been charged with DUI after stopped by state trooper, he tested 3x legal limit at .256 BAC.the DUI cases will be monitored so we can see if charges are reduced enough for the officers to keep their jobs.

* And finally, The Terrell County Georgia sheriff has been given 5 days in jail and a $500 fine on contempt of court charges for failing to bring detainees to court. He plans to appeal.more background info is needed, but this looks an awful lot like a maricopa county issue/power struggle.

and in the washingtontimes today -

maryland police and prosecutors are working overtime to try to cover extreme misconduct on the part of one of their own by intentionally misinterpreting a statute designed to protect telephone conversations from being recorded by applying it to cover police officers, even though there is no expectation of privacy on the side of the interstate.

"To use a statute designed to protect people's privacy - including significantly their privacy from government intrusion - as a sword to suppress the truth about official behavior is really turning the statute on its head."

The sword in question is particularly heavy in this case, as Mr. Graber faces up to 16 years in jail. Prosecutors went out of their way to include a charge based on an obscure 2006 law imposing sanctions on anyone who commits a crime with the intent to film it. The wiretap counts include a charge for the possession and use of a "surreptitious" wiretap device - although it is unclear how a large camera mounted on top of a helmet could be considered hidden.

so Mr. Graber faces 16 years in prison because a maryland state trooper exercised piss poor judgement. who serves who again?

Are cameras the new gun?
in reference to the above story about Graber, I found the totally bullshit falsehood from the police spokesman,Gregory M. Shipley, to be nothing more than propaganda. below is his statement.....

Police spokesman Gregory M. Shipley is defending the pursuit of charges against Graber, denying that it is "some capricious retribution" and citing as justification the particularly egregious nature of Graber's traffic offenses.

In case you haven't heard of this story before, Graber decided that speeding and doing wheelies down Interstate 95 with a video camera attached to his helmet would be a fun way to spend the day. So, while speeding and doing wheelies is certainly illegal, I see nothing 'egregious' about it, such as the police spokesliar Shipley tries to claim that they are.

My question to you, spokesliar Shipley, would be 'if his traffic infractions were so 'egregious' as to pursue ridiculously mistinterpreted wiretapping charges against him, why did you wait until AFTER he posted the video of the hotheaded off duty state trooper who jumped out with his gun drawn after Graber had pulled over? Would this be the maryland state police officers unilateral attempt to intimidate the public in to not recording any police action for fear of revealing more tyrannical misconduct?

I'm think that this is the case.

well here's a 'non shocker',

All charges dropped against chicago cop who killed two people in a drunken driving crash

With a judge's earlier ruling that Chicago Police Officer John Ardelean had been arrested and detained without probable cause, Cook County prosecutors today dropped all charges against him in a crash that killed two people.

The 36-year-old officer was charged with drunken driving and reckless homicide after his SUV broadsided a car on Thanksgiving 2007.

Ardelean, flanked by a handful of police officers, strode silently out of the courthouse without speaking.

"A court ruling in this case last month quashed Officer Ardelean's arrest and suppressed key blood alcohol evidence that would have been required to enable the prosecution to meet its burden of proof and proceed with the case in good faith.

so, a perfect case of collusion between chicago cops, the chicago courts, and chicago prosecutors allows a drunken killer to walk free. hooray.

H/T to Zappa for the heads up.

i understand your heartbreak, that your beloved badge wearers are usually criminals above the law. It's readily apparent you're not ready to accept that fact since all you can do is reply with ridiculousness.

it's ok though, there are specialists who can help you.

STY's future

So, FreeDumbass, since you're supportive of the distraught Oakland PD roughhousing news people at the hospital after 4 cops are killed, i'm sure that you're going to be supportive of the Flores' family members who were arrested for fighting with the chicago cops after the killer of their brother was acquitted of all crimes by his compatriot judge in the chicago injustice machine, right?

right?

http://www.suntimes.com/2354708,thanksgiving-day-crash-charges-dropped-060410.article

Prosecutors made two attempts to prove that Ardelean did. After the two-vehicle fatal crash Nov. 22 in Roscoe Village, Ardelean was charged with misdemeanor DUI -- later upgraded to a felony. But those charges were dismissed when Cook County Judge Don Panarese ruled there was "no indication" Ardelean, who was off-duty at the time, was drunk. Prosecutors reinstated charges after saying they had a lengthy surveillance videotape showing Ardelean drinking five shots and other drinks at a North Side bar shortly before the crash.

Prosecutors also suggested in pretrial hearings that police the night of the crash turned a blind eye to Ardelean's intoxication. Among other things, he wasn't arrested or given a Breathalyzer until seven hours after the crash. But Gainer ruled in April that the supervising officer who ultimately made the arrest didn't have strong enough evidence to do so. Gainer's ruling also suppressed key blood-alcohol evidence.

That ruling sparked a furious reaction, resulting in the arrest of three of Flores' relatives after they scuffled with sheriff's deputies.

Poor-poor DumberthenFuck.
Can you come by and paint my fence, with that big ole wihitewash brush you tend to use??

It is a pity that you failed math and logic, all at the same time.

How's your hatred of all minorities working for you?
Seeing as how your logic says that the majority (51%) are involved in criminal activitiy.

so i'm guessing that your support is in the negative. because they don't blow badge wearers like you do?

hey badge blower troll login, if you wish to consider media reports of police misconduct as 'cop hating', by all means, I BEG you to post a daily media report of cop stories where a tax feeder went above and beyond the call of duty to prevent a crime or save a life.

please do so.

wtf do you want? i'm an oath keeper and more, I will kill any state agent attempting to enforce an illegal and/or unconstitutional order/law on me, and i post factual stories about criminal cops that you like to blow on a daily basis.

do you like to toss their salads also?

Just because I said you suck, doesn't mean that was a good thing.

Changing other peoples posts again are you?

But hey, when you got no rational argument to present in counterpoint to STY, I can see why you'd go there, especially since it's what you did for years on the old AOL boards.
