* A Mesa Arizona police officer has been convicted on 32 charges involving child pornography and his repeatedly molesting a 10-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl over a period of several months.
* A New York NY police officer who was already convicted of coercing an 18-year-old woman into giving him oral sex under threat of arrest was found guilty of sexually abusing two women that he had promised to help find jobs and day care programs for. The judge has remanded him to jail while he awaits a third trial for allegedly raping yet another woman.
* The former Douglas County Nebraska Crime Scene Investigations chief has been sentenced to four years in prison for planting blood evidence against in a truck that framed two innocent men for a murder they didn’t commit. An out-of-state couple later confessed to the crime.
* A Juneau County Wisconsin sheriff’s lieutenant has been fired after being on paid leave for nearly two years over a number of misconduct allegations. Those allegations include an illicit affair with a 17-year-old girl, perjury for lying in sworn testimony about it, and covering for the sexual misconduct of another officer. City officials say they are referring the perjury charges for possible criminal charges.
* Four Fort Worth Texas police officers have been disciplined for various alcohol-related allegations of misconduct related to a birthday party at a bar that resulted in another officer facing intoxicated manslaughter charges after he was kicked out by an off-duty cop working security and allowed to drive home, causing a fatal accident that killed a female driver… this as there have been a number of alcohol-related arrests and misconduct within that department lately.
* A Dallas Texas police officer has been indicted on official oppression and records tampering charges for injuring a man when he shoved him to the ground and then lying about it on his report.
* The San Diego California police department is the subject of a claim, which is the precursor for a lawsuit, that was filed by a woman who was subjected to a televised arrest and search on burglary charges based on a tip… the problem was that a surveillance video that police had, showed a suspect that looked nothing like her. Fortunately charges were dropped after a few days, but not after damage had already been done.
* Four Los Angeles California police officers allegedly involved in the videotaped clash with cyclists participating in a BP protest ride have been placed on desk duty while under investigation for their roles in the incident. Officers have been accused of kicking and shoving batons into the wheels of moving bikes as they rode past. The cyclist who took the video of one of the kicks was tackled prior to the video being shut off.
* Another Los Angeles California police officer was caught on video detaining a man for taking pictures of him making a traffic stop. The man taking the pictures was also recording the incident on video when the officer went into an angry tirade while detaining him, saying “You fruitcake god dang it … I sweat my god dang ass fucking two years in the desert. I gotta hear from your fruitcake ass?” while the photographer tried to argue that he had the legal right to photograph him in public.
* The Lebanon Tennessee public safety commissioner, who also acts as the police chief there, is on paid leave while he’s under investigation for poking the fire chief in the chest with an unloaded firearm as a joke while they were monitoring an event with other officers and city workers.
* Two St Petersburg Florida police officers have resigned in lieu of termination while another received a reprimand, all in separate incidents including one officer who was in a relationship with a 17-year-old girl and would get involved in disputes with her 17-year-old ex-boyfriend. Another officer who had a string of disciplinary actions before his latest incident where he misfired a shotgun in the police department parking lot. And finally the officer who got a reprimand for using his department-issue handcuffs to cuff his son to a bed when he threatened to run away after he got the belt for arguing with his brother.
* A San Antonio Texas police officer was sentenced to a $1,000 fine and community service after pleading no contest to driving around a university campus and exposing himself to a female college student that he beckoned over to the car.
* Two Hollywood Florida police officers were arrested on charges of official misconduct and falsifying records over a high profile incident last year where they were caught on dashcam video trying to “Walt Disney” the truth to help a fellow officer avoid being charged for a DUI accident. Other officers may still face charges in the incident that resulted in several of them being fired and disciplined.
* A Monroe County Ohio deputy has been charged with one felony and one misdemeanor for failing to do anything to stop or report his girlfriend, also a former cop, from dealing drugs out of his home.
* A Lowellville Ohio police officer has taken a plea deal for two felony menacing by stalking charges involving two different women. The deal dropped associated public indecency and gross sexual imposition charges while reducing one of the stalking charges to a misdemeanor.
* A Stamford Connecticut police officer has been charged with disorderly conduct after a woman complained that he hit on her and showed her a picture of his genitals on his cell phone during a traffic stop while her toddler sat in the back seat.
* A Broward County Florida deputy commander has been reassigned while under investigation for apparently showing a Miami Dolphins player preferential treatment by helping him avoid the media when he was released from jail on allegations he assaulted his pregnant fiancee then giving him a ride home while he was on duty. That officer apparently also works security for the team during game days.
* A New York NY police officer who died in a fatal crash that also killed a fellow officer and injured four female passengers was found to have been drunk at the time of the accident with a BAC level 2 times the legal limit.
* And finally, A Toledo Ohio police officer received a year of probation and a $250 fine for a DUI conviction over an accident he caused last year. The officer is still on restricted duty due to that incident.
Just remember, worthless civilians, that these fine officers are tasked with a difficult and dangerous job of protecting us against the big bad world and we need to give them every break possible. They shouldn't be held to any higher standard while they molest little boys and girls, carry on indecent relationships with teenage girls, show detained women their genitals, and lie on official police reports. There should be no repercussions for the men and women who have sworn to serve and protect, while not serving or protecting.
