The District of Columbia filed an emergency motion on Friday challenging the Trump administration’s attempt to take over the city’s police department, and a federal judge is hearing the matter. The lawsuit comes after the Trump administration moved to expand its control of the city’s police department by installing an “emergency commissioner” and revoking policies that limited officers’ cooperation with immigration enforcement.

Democrats introduce joint resolution to end Trump’s ‘lawless’ DC takeover

Democratic lawmakers have introduced a joint resolution aimed at ending what they call Trump’s unlawful and unprecedented move to federalize the Metropolitan police department (MPD) in Washington DC.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member of the house judiciary committee, DC’s non-voting House delegate, Eleanor Holmes Norton, and representative Robert Garcia, ranking member of the House committee on oversight and government reform introduced the resolution on Friday, invoking the District of Columbia Home Rule Act of 1973.

I hope it's successful. Unfortunately, one Federal judge's ruling doesn't cut it anymore - it'll have to go all the way to SCOTUS and what do you think they're going to do?

It is not. Violates Home Rule.

Oh goody - an insurrectionist is going to engage in sedition again. How new and clever.

maybe they can get that traitor fuck Boasberg?

The Constitution is clear - so an Insurrectionist trying to overthrow executive power isn't going to cut it.

Hmm, if the insurrectionist judge is in DC and engaging in sedition, with the DP Police under federal control (Remember when Montgomery AL police were put under federal control and you leftist applauded?) - anyway, with DCPD under the feds, could the seditionist be arrested? I thing they could indeed....
