Actually, its pretty sound, and I liked it. Which is nice, considering all of the trolling Mott has been doing lately.

I will say, however, that stigmatizing an artist via a rating is in no way a supression of his free speech.

/shrugs....depends on where you hang.....the majority of people I know are still married to their first wife......my grandparents made it to 62 years, my parents to 65, I'm working on my 34th.....

75% of first marriages survive. The 50% divorce rate takes into account 2nd and 3rd, etc. marriages.

After your first divorce you are far more likely to divorce again. It drops below 50% survival rate for a second marriage and with each successive marriage the percentage of success drops.

I know a few long timers too...my comment was due to how it is not so common anymore...congrats on your longevity :)
 
Divorce has some pretty negative connotations, but 40 years (or any marriage that has lasted decades) is a pretty good run. It doesn't really invalidate anything to decide you've drifted apart & want a new life.

I know lots of long-term marriages, but - while I'm no psychologist - people certainly grow apart, and stay together for all kinds of reasons aside from love or a feeling that this is the person they should be with.
