Dems were wrong about 'Tariffmaggedon'

New York Times LOL

Do you know how many countries pay a fraction of the cost for medicines that we do? Do you know why?

A MAGA isn't expected to know much about journalism. The Times is the best English language daily journalism there is.

Do you know how to discuss a topic without changing the subject?

You are dupe of propaganda and fake news.

The New York Times has lost almost all its readers.

You are a total and complete idiot. That is why you cannot refute the first post.

I guess that must be worse in the witless MAGA lexicon than a total and incomplete idiot.

My first post refuted your thread argument entirely.

If you looked you would find The NYTimes has more than 10 million subscribers.

Trumps tariffs are simply a back ended way of adding a VAT type federal sales tax on American citizens.

Nothing more and nothing less. He has given a huge tax break to the uber rich and is trying to back fill some of that revenue loss by creating this Federal Sales tax.

It is simply not possible to make the US companies importing goods to pay 15% tariff tax, sector by sector, and that cost to not end up in the final cost of goods that the American tax payer buys.

If you believe there is a way to increase the cost 15% sector wide and yet somehow American consumers will not see that in the consumers final price they pay then you qualify to be amongst the "Poorly Educated", Trump loves.

I read that a case is working it's way up. The power Trump has assumed to impose tariffs is not one that presidents have. The Constitution gives that power to Congress. Congress has the power to regulate foreign commerce, impose tariffs, and collect revenue. Trump has taken it over entirely. Now the courts will decide if he is a king. Courts have upheld the power of Congress. If it gets to the Supremes, we will find out if the judges want to remodel America into Trumpland.

Here is one of the better explanations of the slight hand behind Trump tariff "deals" exposing them as nothing burgers and just magat propaganda fodder. This is from a podcast that does consistently give Trump credit if they see a win.

FLOL at Magats showing why they are the "Poorly Educated" Trump loves.

Tariffs are a lagging burden on a society in the same way, if you took all your credit cards and maxed them out on vacations and buying things, you would feel richer in the moment but then get crushed in the future as you struggled to manage the debt you took on.

The price increases from tariffs will spike inflation and take more money out of the pockets of middle class and below americans which will have a recessionary impact.

But i absolutely knew that Magats would clap like seals prior to that impact as they are too stupid to understand how things work.

It is why Trump is fine piling on record debt to the US as everyone feels richer in the moment while the spending happens and it is future generations who will drown under that debt. Prior republicans understood that and called for responsible spending due to that. Todays magats, the "Poorly Educated" do not and would applaud how good things felt NOW while the spending was happening, while then being convinced to blame the future gov't drowning and trying to manage all that debt.

QPeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, We forgot, you claimed you were the smartest man on JPP. Thanks for the reminder.

QPeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, We forgot, you claimed you were the smartest man on JPP. Thanks for the reminder.
Smarter than you, that is for sure.

If your family was barely getting by managing their income and debt load and i gave you a person like Trump and he had control of your family budget and he maximized your debts such as mortgages and credit cards to let you take more vacations and buy a nicer car you are so poorly educated you would cheer that on because in that moment it would appear you were richer.

If instead you got a real financial planner who cut your spending, made you pay down debt and got you fiscally sound you would complain as you would feel poorer while that happened.

the Poorly Educated, simply are unable to understand that and Trump realizes it which is why he will always push for the lowest interest rates and most debt as they greatly harm the future but make people feel richer in the moment.

This is the case:

Trump's idea of an "emergency" is anything that gets in his way.

WRONG. Tariffs are not a tax on American citizens.

It IS possible, and both historical (Trump 1.0) and current (Trump 2.0) data shows it.

Tariffs are applied to imported goods (they are NOT applied to retail prices that consumers pay). Tariffs are a sort of "entry fee" (for access to USA markets/consumers).
If you believe there is a way to increase the cost 15% sector wide and yet somehow American consumers will not see that in the consumers final price they pay then you qualify to be amongst the "Poorly Educated", Trump loves.
Speak for yourself.

Companies already retail their products at a price point that maximizes their profits. They aren't going to raise their retail prices even more (and lose even more profits due to pricing out consumers). They are instead going to take a small hit on the tariff end and keep the retail price right where it is (more profits that way).

They are also aware that they can avoid tariffs completely by manufacturing their product in the United States.

I read that a case is working it's way up.
You didn't read ANYTHING, Nordy... Ask me how I know...
The power Trump has assumed to impose tariffs is not one that presidents have.
President Trump has the power to do what he is doing.
The Constitution gives that power to Congress. Congress has the power to regulate foreign commerce, impose tariffs, and collect revenue.
Congress has historically enacted laws that have given up a good chunk of that power/authority to the President.
Trump has taken it over entirely.
Nope. He hasn't taken over anything that Congress hasn't already given to him.
Now the courts will decide if he is a king.
It is several lower level courts who are trying to be kings. People are growing sick and tired of their obstructionism and their attempted usurpation of the Executive Branch.
Courts have upheld the power of Congress.
Lower level courts have done as described above. SCOTUS (and some higher level courts), however, have upheld the Constitution and the rule of law.
If it gets to the Supremes, we will find out if the judges want to remodel America into Trumpland.

QPeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee,
Your advice is sage. If you believe what you write, why are you a democrat?

FLOL at Magats

Fuck off shitstain. You're just another whining little bitch, butthurt that Trump and the Make America Great Again movement has proven that we are superior to you in every way.

Do you call Trump supporters maggots to their face? Hell no you don't, your coward punk ass would be scared shitless to even try. You'd get the bitchslapping that you need.

Trump tariffs are a tax on the American citizens and you admit that in your last sentences.

When you look sector by sector you will the metrics for the expected margins with or without tariffs being applied and that is what successful companies operating in the sectors will target to get based on the sale of their product to American's.

So if the sector metrics say companies in Sector Y need to earn X and the cost of manufacture in CHina goes up, the companies raise the prices to cover that. If shipping costs across the sector go up, the companies raise prices to cover that. Etc, etc, etc, to ANY AND ALL COSTS that would impact the target margins.

Tariffs are no different. COmpanies in a segment do not just suddenly say 'we will accept 15% or more reduction in our margins' when they have the power to pass it on to the customers who have no choice when the impact is sector wide, such as all shipping costs going up, or all manufacturing costs in CHina going up, or all tariffs applied equally do.

So you have to be the "Poorly Educated" and why Trump loves you to simply believe that companies will suddenly just go with less profit when corporate profits, short of a few blip cycles such as recessions triggered by the 2008 mortgage crisis, when profits ONLY GO UP AND TO THE RIGHT.

annual-corporate-profits-in-the-us.jpg

Imagine how stupid of a magat you must be to think all corporations will just say 'we will make less money for Trump' when they can simply pass the costs on. My company has already begun passing the costs on as we have been paying changing import taxes depending on where TACO is and we are priced already at the upper end instead of the lower so we do not lose money if he settles high and we make EXTRA money if it comes in below.
