I understand most of the reasons why the 5th Amendment was written into your Constitution's "Bill of Rights" back in the Founding era ( in 1791, I think ?).
What I find difficult to grasp about the 5th Amendment was illustrated quite recently. I'm referring to the case of Dr Kevin O'Connor. O'Connor was Biden's personal physician at the White House for the whole four years of his Presidency. Earlier this month, on July 5th, he was subpoenaed to present himself for questioning by the current Congressional Oversight Committee. for a closed-door interview.
At this "interview O'Connor refuse to answer any and every question that was put to him, pleading the fifth on every occasion.
This included the following two questions that were put to him....
(1) "WERE YOU EVER TOLD TO LIE ABOUT PRESIDENT BIDEN'S HEALTH"?
and
(2) DID YOU EVER BELIEVE THAT PRESIDENT BIDEN WAS UNFIT TO EXECUTE HIS DUTIES ?
The problem I have with this is that there is a wealth of absolute, objective, incontrovertible proof that O'Connor had repeatedly lied to the public about Biden's cognitive impairments , even when his symptoms of dementia were pronounced and clearly conspicuous. It is also crystal clear that O'Connor wilfully did this to help conceal Biden's rapidly disintegrating state of mind on behalf of the so-called White House "Politburo" (this was, the "in-house" name that was given to a cabal of (unelected) senior WH aides and "Progressive", Party "Pooh - Bahs." The later included seasoned, Democrat grubs like: Ron Klein ;Anita Dunn; Annie Tomasini, Anthony Berand and Co, who were the real locus of power in the Biden administration.
To get back to my point, it was simply NOT POSSIBLE for O'Connor - an experienced physician - NOT to have be fully aware that Biden's mental health was already substantially impaired by dementia from the very beginning of his tenure as President. Even when Biden's behaviour became increasingly bizarre, embarrassing and dysfunctional, O'Connor continued to lie through his teeth about Biden's cognitive impairments in order to keep a criminal "cover-up" conspiracy in operation. As Biden's personal physician O'Connor was duty-bound to be truthful and transparent about Biden's medical fitness, especially if he knew the President was "off his F**king tit (!)" and mentally unfit to serve. The American public - just to begin with -, have a right to know if their President is incapacitated.
Kevin O'Connor,, had he not been a craven, lying, grub, could very well have spared America to four years of devastation, misery and death that the radical, Marxist, "Politburo inflicted on America between 2021 and 2024.
Yet despite the fact that U'Connor is a criminal POS,, and every member of the American population knows this for a concrete , cold, undeniable fact - all he has to do to evade being held accountable for his role in one of the greatest crimes in American history is like "PLEAD THE FIFTH."
That's bull-shit !
How is it just that that O'Connor is able to "Plead the Fifth" and then just walk away free as a bird, when every Tom, Dick and Harry in America knows he is a criminal whose actions have resulted in a world of damage and harm across the entire nation.
Is it right that the 5th Amendment can be used by a horrible little turd like Kevin O'Connor escape the punishment he deserves for his evil behaviour ?
