Conservatives, Do You Learn Languages?

Conservatives of the United States, do you take the time to learn another language, and why do you learn languages?

I'm Leftist, but I wanted to ask the Conservatives of the United States, do you still learn languages, even if you support Republican leaders?

I'm a Leftist learning Hindi, but I wonder if you Conservatives learn languages. For cognitive benefits? For access to movies from that country? Or do you learn languages like Hindi to help understand their politics too?

Conservatives, do you also read Conservative news in other languages? Like, if you were learning Hindi, you'd also see global news in it, and some Conservative outlets exist in Hindi as well.

If you were learning a language, do you also consume Conservative news websites in that language? Do you use Google Translate on Fox News?

And what are your reasons for learning languages as a Conservative? What is your favorite language as a Conservative in the United States?

The majority of bi-lingual Americans speak English as their second language

Most conservatives for whom English is a first language are xenophobic and can't be bothered to learn other languages.
They don't study humanities in school. That's "Hippie" stuff to them.

They think that English is "American," completely forgetting that English is England's language and we don't even have our own
national language.

Liberals do study humanities, largely on the basis of being more highly evolved humans,
but even among them, few who speak English as a first language learn a second.
More than American conservatives, perhaps--
--Middle Americans do less foreign travel than coastal people do--
but we still lag behind most if not all developed nations in bilingual capability.

It's one of our national deficiencies.

Not speaking more than one language is a definite example of sophistication deficiency,
and having lost much of my ability to speak Italian or even Sicilian dialect over the years,
I include myself among the deficient.

Are there conservatives that aren't that way, and learn languages? As in conservatives who study other conservative countries like India (I think) and Hungary. But for their language learning, do some conservatives study a language for talking to other conservatives online (as in like on Discord)? For example, an US conservative would learn Hindi to speak with Indian conservatives and Hungarian to speak with Hungarian conservatives.

Some conservation obviously know multiple languages.

The significant majority of English speaking conservatives do not.
That was my point.

Americans in general lag behind most developed nations in percentage of multi-lingual people.
The number of Hispanics learning English is what softens that a little bit.

Whats this obsession you have with learning languages? You used the word "language" 10 times in the OP. why? There are more things to learn than languages, you know that right?

Why would people living in America need to learn many other languages? I I moved to Italy should I expect that italians learn english? Thats asinine.

There are indeed more things to learn than languages,
and those who haven't bothered to learn other languages
will be the first to point that out

The amusing part is this. Most of the latter don't do that well with English.
That's #1.

#2 is that
they're not particularly good at learning anything else, either.

Already did.

Lived in germany for 3 yrs., in-laws are German and speak no to very limited English.
I'm Leftist, but I wanted to ask the Conservatives of the United States, do you still learn languages,
Not any more.
even if you support Republican leaders?
No one is qualified to be my ruler.

I'm a Leftist learning Hindi, but I wonder if you Conservatives learn languages. For cognitive benefits? For access to movies from that country? Or do you learn languages like Hindi to help understand their politics too?
To communicate w/ my inlaws now. Used to work in Germany. I considered emigrating there at one time.

Do you use Google Translate on Fox News?
No. Who uses G.T. on Fox News?
And what are your reasons for learning languages as a Conservative?
Already stated. Keep up.
What is your favorite language as a Conservative in the United States?
Japanese and French.

No need to apologize Im just fascinated by your questions related to languages as if that means something.
I just like languages, I know it's rare for Americans to do so, but I'm fascinated by all the languages as a U.S. leftist. For me, I'm learning Hindi, and the main reason I learn languages is to watch videos online and talk to people in them online.

For example, there are a lot of news websites in Hindi, the language I'm learning, and I do get to learn new words from it. Mostly I learn about Modi and Indian politics. Some Indian news cover U.S. politics in Hindi. I was born in the US, and live there, I'm not Indian, but I'm learning Hindi to understand people who speak it. I am curious about languages because typically, if I type a brand name into Google there are also websites in Spanish, German, Portuguese, etc.

I was asking if US conservatives learned languages because I know a few people in the US have learned languages. Usually I know some learn Hebrew and Greek for religious purposes. But all I was asking if they learned foreign languages for any reason, just out of curiosity.
