I'm just discouraged by how much our military budget drains out of our tax revenues,
but smarter people than I need to come up with an answer to that problem.
We need to be spending a lot of money on other things as well,
so taxes need to be raised, not lowered.

Trump just may be starting to learn that Vlad Putin has never had any intention of good faith negotiations. His goal is, and always has been the capitulation of Ukraine and the removal of the government in Kyiv.

Putin's pain must be increased his beloved Crimea bridge must come down. Then Crimea must be cut off from any land bridge. When Putin is in danger of losing Crimea he will be more apt to negotiate a cease fire.
