Jaguar sales in Europe plunged a shocking 97.5% following a botched rebrand that included a commercial featuring men in skirts to announce its upcoming pivot toward an all-electric fleet — but the cars have yet to arrive at dealerships.

The luxury British automaker registered just 49 vehicles in Europe in April, compared with 1,961 vehicles in the same month last year, according to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association.

Sales between January and April plummeted 75.1%, with just 2,665 cars sold across the continent.

The stunning decline comes after Jaguar rolled out a controversial ad last November that featured non-binary models wearing a rainbow of colors with slogans like “Copy Nothing” and “Live Vivid” — but excluded any images of its sleek sports cars as it touted its transition to a fully electric, ultra-luxury company.

“Jaguar’s transformation towards a new portfolio of pure-electric vehicles was announced as part of the Reimagine strategy in 2021,” a Jaguar spokesman told The Post after the publication of this story.

That’s a weird advertisement. You’d think they’d learned from the Bud Light debacle .

Sales have dropped because there is no product available due to planned production change over to EVs.

At first glance, that figure seems catastrophic, and it’s already fueled headlines pointing to a collapse linked to Jaguar’s high-stakes rebrand and its pivot toward electric vehicles. But those interpretations miss a crucial piece of context. Jaguar intentionally stopped producing cars at the end of 2024, a move that stretched into early 2025 in some regions, as part of a planned transition to becoming an EV-only brand.

And auto makers are backing away from EVs so Jaguar is destined to continued sagging sales

Which automakers are backing away from EVs?
Automakers from Ford Motor and General Motors to Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Jaguar Land Rover and Aston Martin are scaling back or delaying their electric vehicle plans.

Toss in Ford and Lotus too.

The simple answer is, all of them. Outside dedicated EV manufacturing companies, car makers are ditching the EV as an ultra-loser in the market. Buyers don't want them, there is no secondary market for them, and short of government forcing them down people's throats, they're horribly unpopular.

I guess you can't read. They are not backing away from EVs. They are just extending the time frame.

assumes an all-electric future at a much slower pace,

lol. Geebus...

That should have just been one ad among many instead of replacing all ads and "rebranding". Sales will plummet if you stop trying to attract the people who spend money on the thing you are advertising.

It's the first step to the death kneel of EV's. EV's have never been competitive in over 150 years of trying. They just aren't what consumers want and the ONLY way you can make them competitive is through force of government.

To be clear, although consumer demand for EVs hasn’t shown up in the way executives had expected, sales of the vehicles are still predicted to increase in the years to come.
(CNBC)

That is, CEO's and such don't see demand for them now and likely only predict their increase in the future because they are reading in government mandates.

So, unless you have government forcing them down consumer's throats either through outright bans of ICE vehicles or through massive, expensive, subsidies and bribes, EV's are not happening.

Well that must turns my day upside down, Jaguar’s European sales are down, what’s the would to do, the apocalypse is upon us

No corporation intentionally plans for a huge drop in sales.

Sure. That must be why China has sales of 1 million EVs a month.
They are so far out of it compared to you. If only the Chinese government hadn't banned ICE vehicles they would sell so much better because they are more expensive to buy, own and drive than the EVs in China.
