I can see why people would become fearful in hard times and gravitate towards a strong leader, even if he's a sham like Trump. But these are not hard times. The general progress of America has been upwards. We're prosperous, we're healthy, we're not at war despite the Reichwing's best efforts. Yet people are fearful on the Right. They're not fearful of real things like climate change or pandemics. They're fearful of brown people coming here, they're fearful of vaccines, they're fearful that minorities are going to get something they don't have. They're being taught to be fearful and evidently they like it that way. Maybe that explains why RW media gets more listeners/viewers than LW?
