Given the threat that Islamist theocratic regimes pose to America and its allies,
why are we opposed to destroying them?

Our mistake is trying to occupy them.
There's no need for that--we just waste American lives doing that--
but there's little downside to reducing them to rubble.

Some of us--not enough of us--remember 9/11,
and Jihadist Islam has not come remotely close to paying for that yet...
or the 10/7 attack on Israel either.

It's not about any particular nation.
They're all shitholes by any standards of decency.
It's about Jihadist Islamic theocracies in general.
They seriously diminish our world.

People are concerned with the suffering of Muslim civilians in the Middle East,
but Jihadist Islamists have never worried about harming civilians---
including their own.

We need to deal with them,
and also deal with our theocratic Christians at home.
Theocracy reduces its advocates to sub-human mutants.

It has always cracked me up how Republicans trip over themselves trying to give Democrats "credit" for the Iraq War now.

At the time, when Saddam's statue fell - the right was laughing at Dems, and saying they were on the "wrong side of history."

The left was 100% right about going into Iraq. Conservatives were wrong, and have refused to admit that (with a few exceptions).

The Iraq war was a very profitable investment for Dubya and Cheney's corporate pals.
Given the chance, I'm sure they would do it again.

Nevertheless, the Neocons wanted a hard right slanted democracy.
Dubya was an idiot but not really a racist.

The "neocons who got us into the Iraq war" are the very same people who LEFTISTS now openly support and say nice things about (John McCain, "Dubya", "Jeb!", Liz Cheney, Lindsey Graham, et al).

It is currently LEFTISTS who are supporting and funding our proxy war against Russia ("slava ukraini!").

He just wants to blame the MAGA movement for what HE actually is; a warmonger.

Since he actively beats the drums for USA war against Russia (while pretending that Russia was the instigator of the war), he now sees an opportunity to pretend that the MAGA movement somehow desires war against Iran.
