What's Going on With the Site?

She seemed to enjoy being queen of her little fiefdom and tossing out RW conspiracy theory bullshit.

You'd have to be specific as to what you mean by RW conspiracy bc- if it had something to do with Covid, I might well believe in it myself (though nothing with the lab origin bit, since I no longer believe in biological viruses at all). But I have no problem with people arguing their point of view, even if it's the flat earth theory (which I definitely -don't- agree with). My problem is when people in positions of power use that power to snuff out views they don't agree with.

Who in America, besides Trump, is attempting to snuff out view they don't agree with?

She covered the gamut of RW ideology; racism, white supremacy, using force to "take our country back", etc, etc, Unfortunately, with the site down, I can't go back and look

I have no doubt she rolled over on her members to the Feds rather than face an obstruction charge.

I really don't know her well enough to come to a conclusion on that one. Heck, I don't even know if she had any information with which to 'roll over' with. I will say that I'm suspicious of a lot of things that happened on J6. That doesn't mean I supported Trump's treatment of Pence. I think this article from Time Magazine that I just found vindicates Pence:

He decided that as Vice President, he didn't have the legal authority to challenge the electoral count and I think that's a justified stance to take. I think a similar one was taken by Al Gore. I'd like to point out that I think Al Gore should have won against George W. Bush and I concede that Trump may have been defrauded of an election, but that doesn't change the fact that both Al Gore and Mike Pence decided to go with the electoral counts because they felt that was what they should do.

Big Pharma. Fortunately, RFK Jr. is cracking down hard on that vile nest of corruption:

There was also a Trump executive order that I think restored some free speech:

But yes, the Trump Administration also does some censorship:

Mm, the use of force bit is definitely worrying. It reminds me of a joke from Dave Chappelle that I still think is quite good- the punchline is at the 1:30 mark. You can see him do it here:

Chappelle said, "We [standup comics] watch you guys fight. But when we're together we talk it out. I know comics that are very racist and I watch 'em on stage and everyone's laughing. And I'm like mmm that motherf***er means that s**t."

Chappelle continued, "Don't get mad at 'em. Don't hate 'em. We go upstairs and have a beer. And sometimes I even appreciate the artistry that they paint their racist opinions with. Man, it's not that serious. The First Amendment is first for a reason. The Second Amendment is just in case the first one doesn't work out."

It stretches credulity to claim Big Pharma is passing poison as medicine to the American public. Especially considering most of the modern world's medical experts agree on vaccines and haven't found a connection between autism and vaccines.

Do you really believe this is a vast, wide conspiracy by Big Pharma and almost every doctor on the planet to make money and kill you?

There's a vast body of research suggesting that autism can be caused by vaccines. Some anonymous person compiled a list of papers on the subject here:

No, as I think most people who say they trust vaccines really do. The problem is that people frequently believe things that aren't true. If that weren't the case, the U.S. wouldn't have around half the population hating the other because of their political beliefs.

QED. Nutjobs abound.

Like HCQ and injecting bleach, I trust the medical community over people on Facebook.

What I do support is teaching more people about Critical Thinking.

Insulting people is certainly the easiest way of dismissing arguments, I'll grant you that. I see it play out in thie forum all the time.

There are just some posters that all they deserve are insults. The racist in particular. You can’t reason with racists.

Fighting fire with fire just adds to the blaze. I think starving flamers of oxygen (responses) is the better way to go.

Do you prefer "mentally ill people are poor at using critical thinking and are often irrational"?

No, I'd prefer my ideological opponents to actually review the information I provide and, if they feel there are any errors in said information, to point them out. I remember a line from a film I liked: "A golden cage is still a cage". Similarly, a long winded personal attack is still a personal attack. It distracts from the actual evidence.

It was one of them. I presume the Feds investigated all the sites that had discussions about militias, civil war and "restoring the Constitution" by force. Hers was particularly rife with RWNJs and, as both @Scott and I have noted above, she catered to the ideology.

After the Feds paid her a visit, it burst her little fantasy bubble and shit got so real that she was noticeably shaken. The fact she simply shut down the forum instead of selling it is interesting. I guess she didn't need the money.

I don't think forums make much money. They are more the love of ideologues who want a safe place to talk to others and to spread their beliefs. I'm giving @Damocles this one: he runs his forum -- despite his Trumpian bent -- as mostly a free speech forum.

I expect that sites like this have been monitored for a long time. Most of us know that, but we speak our minds anyways.

The jealous twatwaddle continues to hate for no reason.

The Grumpy Goober Gang overdid it a bit Saturday...and now they're grumpier than ever...
Hope they have enough left in the tank to celebrate today...;)

That's nice, Scott.
