As the war between Israel and Iran rages on, it is unclear whether the Trump Administration is preparing to intervene militarily.

On Monday, U.S. forces were sent to the Middle East, ostensibly for “defensive” purposes, as Donald Trump left the G7 summit early and warned Tehran to evacuate. On Tuesday, Trump insisted he was not interested in a ceasefire, called for Iran’s “unconditional surrender,” and warned Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that “our patience is wearing thin.”

But whether the U.S. gets more involved than it already is, some members of Congress from both parties argue, is not a decision that should be up to the President.

Reps. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) introduced a war powers resolution on Tuesday that asserts the requirement of Congress’ approval if Trump wants to commit armed forces to military action in the region.

“This is not our war. But if it were, Congress must decide such matters according to our Constitution,” Massie posted on X on Monday night.

I haven’t posted an opinion on the Iranian nuke situation or steps to prevent it.

I have posted that it poses an existential nuclear threat to Israel, the U.S., and the rest of the world.

At the moment, I am somewhat paying attention to the Iran news, gathering/processing information about it. Trump is not "Dubya", and I do trust him to not get us involved in another "forever war" in the Middle East.

Something that many people forget is that Trump also needs the "Big Beautiful Bill" to get pushed through CONgress. He is currently trying to get all the "Republican" CONgress critters to vote for it, including the pro-war and Big-Ag representatives within the party, so he's also navigating that political minefield at the moment... I would think that a "King" could just 'declare it so' and not have to deal with any such legislative processes, but I digress.

Anyway, Trump and Putin seem to be the only two "adults in the room" when it comes to foreign policy while the others just keep banging the war drums. Trump seems to be "wheeling and dealing" with Putin about Ukraine and Iran, making sure that any actions taken don't escalate into something worse.

I suspect that Trump and Putin have both agreed that Russia will "get its way" on Ukraine if the USA (Israel) will likewise "get its way" on Iran.
