If history teaches anything, it’s that complex problems don’t get solved by chanting slogans and waving signs. They get solved by adults in rooms with data, accountability, and a willingness…

The bigger question would then be: what is it about MAGA that attracts the conspiracy theory nutters? I think it is that MAGA is very open to the idea that "reality is fungible". It can be bent and twisted to be whatever we need it to be for whatever purposes we need at that moment. If you open the door to rank and file pointing at clearly obvious examples of misdeeds and calling them "virtue", it's an open invitation to invite anyone to propose whatever truly absurd thought is in their head.

MAGA is rich and fertile soil for the credulous, the dishonest and the just plain stupid. It's why the primary battle cry is against the "elites". But then you look to see who is RUNNING THE MAGA SHOW and you see it's all elites. It's the rank and file who are being played. And they seem to be quite OK with it.

Good points. It's mystifying. These are adults who seem more like children wanting a daddy to protect them from all the stuff Daddy tells them is bad -- immigrants, Democrats, scientists, medical experts, China, non-Xtians, LGBTQ ppl, "woke," DEI, etc. They've surrendered their autonomy and freedom of thought to their overlords.

Conspiracy theories are easy answers, often fun answers. If MAGAs were serious people they wouldn't be MAGAs in the first place.
For them, conspiracy theories are just the thing.

The idea that Hillary would have tried to stay in power and fight is a fiction of your own mind. Even Al Gore, who was VP of Senate at the time and thus DID have the power, and was later shown would have won the election had all votes been counted, conceded and participating in the transfer of power.

You can predict all you want others would do what Trump did but ONLY Trump did what Trump did and no one takes the predictions of a stupid person seriously.
 
Please note his is the same @Damocles who will later pretend he is not a Trump shill while, in every post trying to justify every Trump egregious action (from the purchased pardons to the insurrections) with his statements that he does not blame Trump as others do it too. Even though no one has done what Trump has done and he is lying to stretch and distort things to create his WHATABOUTISMs.

To you mean like Russian collusion or prostitutes peeing in Trumps bed or Russian disinformation on Hunter's laptop or deep fake videos showcasing Joe's dementia. I could go on but even you should get the idea.

I remember plenty of proto-MAGATs at the end of Obama's 2nd term claiming that he wasn't going to leave the WH if a Republican won the election. It's a common fallacy of t heirs, and also smacks of classical projection.
 
A problem with most all conspiracy theories are the inconvenient facts that undercut the theories if you let them in. So MAGAs keep them out
and things work out great.
