In about two weeks!

Trump says we have been cheated by trading partners for many decades. We are the wealthiest and strongest country on the globe through that time. That is not very good cheating, is it? We exploited their laborers to build our stuff and evaded environmental regulations. They have been plundered and made filthy by our manufacturers. Yet Trump says they were cheating us.
One of the highlights of the Trump/Clinton debate for me was when Hillary pointed out that despite his years of whining about "Chy-nah is eating our lunch", he had NO PROBLEM using Chinese steel to build one of his properties. Trump sneered, "So pass a law so I can't do that!"

When I heard that, I thought "He just told all his followers that he doesn't give a damn about them."

Yet the dummies voted for him ..... TWICE now.

Trump definitely has a few more cards than Zelensky, but the bottom line is they're doozies. From what I can see, there are only 2 real possibilities- either the U.S. walks away from the Ukraine debacle or it escalates things to a nuclear war. Honestly, I'd rather Trump keep on saying 2 weeks until his term runs out. It sure beats a nuclear holocaust.
If we allow Putin to frame every question like that, then we have to surrender Arkansas to Putin, or we will all die from nuclear war.

Putin didn't frame this, I did. It's what I honestly believe and I'm certainly not alone. To give an example, this article just popped into my email a few hours ago:

I still have some hope that this crisis can be averted, but I'm also resigned to the fact that if things continue on their current trajectory, the survivors may find some deep parallels to the Silo tv series. In case you're unaware of the series' plot, here's the synopsis of the story that started it all:
**
The story of Wool takes place on a post-apocalyptic Earth. Humanity clings to survival in the Silo, a self-sustaining subterranean city with 144 floors. No records of the time before the Silo remain. All residents of the Silo are taught that the outside world is toxic and deadly, and the Silo's cardinal rule is that anyone who expresses a desire to go outside must be sent outside to clean the external sensors of the silo, while facing certain death. The deaths of those sent to clean reaffirm to the Silo residents that the outdoors remain uninhabitable.
**

Full article:

I certainly wouldn't like to tell any young family members that it happened because people were too arrogant to admit they thought that some country with nukes wasn't really going to pull the nuclear trigger when pushed against the wall.

OK, should we give Arkansas to Putin to avoid WWIII?

Putin has expressed absolutely no interest in taking any actual territory from the United States. It's the United States that played a crucial role in a regime change operation in Ukraine that started this whole mess. Quoting from American Professor and Statesman Jeffrey Sachs:
**
As you know, Viktor Yanukovych was elected as president of Ukraine in 2010 on the platform of Ukraine’s neutrality. Russia had no territorial interests or designs in Ukraine at all. I know. I was there off-and-on during these years. What Russia was negotiating during 2010 was a 25-year lease to 2042 for Sevastopol naval base. That’s it. There were no Russian demands for Crimea, or for the Donbas. Nothing like that at all. The idea that Putin is reconstructing the Russian empire is childish propaganda. Excuse me.

[snip]

Now in 2014, the U.S. worked actively to overthrow Yanukovych. Everybody knows the phone call intercepted by my Columbia University colleague, Victoria Nuland, and the U.S. ambassador, Geoffrey Pyatt. You don’t get better evidence. The Russians intercepted her call, and they put it on the Internet.

It’s fascinating. By doing that, they all got promoted in the Biden administration. That’s the job. When the Maidan occurred, I was called soon after. “Professor Sachs, the new Ukrainian prime minister would like to see you to talk about the economic crisis.” So, I flew to Kyiv, and I was walked around the Maidan. And I was told how the U.S. paid the money for all the people around the Maidan, the “spontaneous” Revolution of Dignity.

Ladies and gentlemen, please, how did all those Ukrainian media outlets suddenly appear at the time of the Maidan? Where did all this organization come from? Where did all these buses come from? Where did all those people come from? Are you kidding? This is an organized effort. And it’s not a secret, except perhaps to citizens of Europe and the United States. Everyone else understands it quite clearly.

If anyone knows the day-to-day and year-to-year history, this is childish stuff. Yet childish stuff seems to work better than adult stuff. So, there were no territorial demands at all before the 2014 coup [in Ukraine]. Yet the United States decided that Yanukovych must be overthrown because he favored neutrality and opposed NATO enlargement. It’s called a regime change operation.

Putin has suggested a historical claim to Alaska. And those around him have gone further to include the Pacific Northwest of the USA, and even Arkansas.

And why not? If we tell Putin all he has to do is threaten nuclear war, and we will give him whatever he wants, of course he will demand everything.

No, he did not:

Well look at this, my golden shot to slug Rossy the Biden right in that drooling mug and I'll probably still miss, LOL. I'll admit you're tough to beat, I can't even tell what you're flailing at, you senile old geezer, swinging wildly like you're lost in a fog. Strike three? Hell I didn't even see the pitch, it zoomed past while you were napping in your oatmeal.

But you really showed me huh? Proved what a tough creaky fossil you are, schooling me with your incoherent claims of schooling me about.......well, you left that part out. Just the same, tell your nurse to spoon-feed you an extra ice cream cone tonight, Rossy the Biden loves his ice cream treats. I'll just limp off and nurse my wounds from your devastating display of dementia-fueled "beat down."
My, my, my. You certainly have negative thoughts about old people. Mommy and Daddy treat you poorly.? Grandpa or Grandma treat you like dirt?

Maybe they were not at fault, Toby. Maybe you deserved their scorn. Maybe you are just a bad seed.

Oh, well...matters not. You are someone who cannot keep control of yourself.

I hope you grow up. It will take some doing in your case, but it can be done.

In the meantime, I will just enjoy your rants. They are funny.

Little Toby Turbo Turd's level of imbecility is so high, they'd need to put a satellite in deep space orbit just to measure it.

He's so dedicated to licking taco's nutsack, he can't even acknowledge that he's been up and down on his "look at me I'm a tough guy" tariffs like a Duncan yo-yo at the WYYC.

He's so stupid it doesn't even occur to him that if taco hadn't raised US tariffs on them to begin with, they wouldn't have raised them on us in return.

I guess Toby Turbo Turd is just "too smart" to care about all the business the US will lose when imports of US goods in those countries slows to a crawl.

Gee, Turbo Turd, no wonder everyone envies you fer a-bein such a fart smeller.
Nomad's latest post is a textbook case of AI polishing his grammar to a glossy shine but no amount of digital lipstick can smarten up this pig. Garbage in garbage out, AI can't fix stupid.

If you're bored scroll back to Nomad's pre AI word vomit when his fifth grade writing skills were on full display. The contrast is night and day. He only just stumbled onto using AI to mask his literary shortcomings. Slow clap for Captain Obvious.

I've been waiting to compile a before and after 'study' but for me the real question is whether AI can crank up Nomad's IQ from room temperature to something resembling a sentient being.

Early data's in and shocker it confirms what I already knew, no tech on earth can salvage his rattled brain. This post proves it. He's so out of his depth he can't even grasp the argument so he just barfs up some vaguely relevant drivel and calls it a day, lol. I'm guessing he's quite proud of himself, which is hilarious. Born dumb stays dumb Nomad, I tried to tell you this, but I knew you didn't get it, LOL. Admittedly, at least it's a bit easier to read you drivel, so there's that.

Singapore had no tariffs on American goods, and was hit by "reciprocal" tariffs. trump is not actually reciprocating, but making up random numbers to set tariffs at.

But once again, this is about Putin's invasion of Ukraine, not tariffs. Russia has high tariffs on the USA, and trump set tariffs on goods from Russia at zero.
Do you and your fellow short bus scholars ever venture beyond the meme cesspools you call education? Or do you all just swap drool soaked notes at group therapy?

I'm exhausted from schooling you and your dumbass army on topics you're too lazy to even Google. So let's keep this short and point you toward the light. Maybe just maybe you can pull your head out of your meme fueled ass and learn something.

Start with Russia. Why didn't you cry about North Korea or Cuba? What you think Trump's sending them love letters and tariff exemptions because they're BFFs? LOL. Go figure out why those rogue states plus a few others aren't on Trump's tariff hit list. Hint it's not because he's throwing them a slumber party. It's called sanctions genius. I'll let you look it up all by yourself. Same deal with Kim and Castro's ghost. Do your homework for once.

Now Singapore. Pull up Trump's tariff explanation and try to keep up. The reciprocal tag isn't some tit for tat tariff mirror. It's a formula based on trade deficits divided by exports to the US halved because Trump's feeling nice. It's been public since day one. But I get it reading is hard when you're drowning in clickbait and meme sludge. Trump's team has been crystal clear. Tons of countries use sneaky tricks like subsidies, currency manipulation, and massive trade deficits to screw over American workers. I could spoon feed you the full list but that's not how you grow a spine. Ditch your libtard meme lords and read something real for once. Maybe you'll finally wake the hell up and stop embarrassing yourself.

You poor old loon, you can't identify a rant from me having fun with Rossy the Biden. I'd have more fun right now, but I have a prior engagement. Maybe later Rossy. Go get your oatmeal on for now.

6 years ago he was going to release his health care plan in two weeks.
looks like the walls are really closing in on trump this time.....

not!

In another 7 days, we are to know if Putin wants peace, and if not, what The Felon is going to do about it.

Little Toby Turbo Turd's M. O. is straight out of the right-wing troll handbook.

Copy the the other guy then accuse him of doing what you do yourself.

Nobody cares, Little Toby.

You're wasting your AI post creator's bandwidth on something that means nothing to anybody but your own, zit-faced, mentally 14 y/o, mother's basement dwelling self.

So reciprocal tariffs are not reciprocal tariffs? Instead they are based on a random formula that makes no sense? The Economist referred to it as taxing people on the number of vowels in their name, and it certainly does look like that.

Yeah...it must have been Grandma or Grandpa that you hated. You are too much a child to have parents old enough to cause just a problem.

The problem can be handled, by the way. There are psychologists and psychiatrists who specialize in your kinds of problems.

You seem to be of the impression that Trump is what stands between Putin using his nukes or not. I find that unlikely given that Putin is a leader who is uniquely disinterested in what others think. Murder is de rigueur for him so clearly he isn't in "need of a friend" since he doesn't appear to have a human soul.

Trump is a little mouse playing before this ravenous lion and he thinks he's "taming the lion". I'm not saying Putin is STRONGER than the US but he's stronger than our president. Putin has been playing Trump since 2015 or earlier. His primary goal in the first Trump term was to get Trump to destabilize or outright destroy NATO. He almost got his wish. But not quite.

When Trump left Putin realized he'd never get another US President to back out of NATO so he went ahead and did what he planned to do all along: invade Ukraine.

He isn't "scared" of Trump. Trump is nothing but a "TACO" to Putin. Putin, on the other hand, much to the horror of decent society never "chickens out" on whatever truly horrible thing he has planned.

Trump is the cuck here but he doesn't seem to realize it. Unfortunately we will all have to live with the results.

Your cartoonish depiction of Putin is noted, but it doesn't mesh with reality. In point of fact, Putin is something of a centrist- there are some in Russia who are calling for him to escalate things with nukes, but so far he has resisted these calls. An article published today on Newsweek has this to say:
**
Sunday's coordinated attacks are "grounds for a nuclear attack," Vladimir Solovyov, one of Russia's most well-known propagandists and state commentators, said in remarks reported by Ukrainian media.

The TV presenter has repeatedly pushed nuclear weapons into Russian discourse around the more than three years of war in Ukraine, and has floated the idea of a nuclear strike on NATO countries.

Shortly after Ukraine launched an incursion across the border into Russia's Kursk region in August 2024, Solovyov claimed the Kremlin had the "basis to start a nuclear war."

Full article:

From what I have read, Putin not only has a soul, he can be pretty good at expressing his feelings as well. Here's what he had to say about the Donbass Republics on the day he started his military operation:
**
This brings me to the situation in Donbass. We can see that the forces that staged the coup in Ukraine in 2014 have seized power, are keeping it with the help of ornamental election procedures and have abandoned the path of a peaceful conflict settlement. For eight years, for eight endless years we have been doing everything possible to settle the situation by peaceful political means. Everything was in vain.

As I said in my previous address, you cannot look without compassion at what is happening there. It became impossible to tolerate it. We had to stop that atrocity, that genocide of the millions of people who live there and who pinned their hopes on Russia, on all of us. It is their aspirations, the feelings and pain of these people that were the main motivating force behind our decision to recognise the independence of the Donbass people’s republics.
