Army estimates that Trump's military parade could cost $16 million in damage to Washington streets

They shouldn't have painted it to begin with...considering the reasoning behind it...;) And the cost...
That's up to the Mayor and voting citizens residing in DC, dear. https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/fact/table/DC/PST045223

I hadn't but now that I have you are right it is funny.
It's one of the primary reasons why I think he's both average or better intelligence but as cuckoo as a German cuckoo clock.

The parade route is about 4, plus a bit, miles long. It costs about $900,000 a mile to repave a city street with multiple lanes. So, how having to repave the whole length of the parade route runs $16 million requires some explaining by the estimators I'd think.

I question these 'estimators' themselves. They are not military, but just Democrats.

Well, I can see some larger expenses, like paying for the fuel and time to have privately owned antique military aircraft participate. The owners have to cover their maintenance costs, fuel, etc. It's only right that the government foots that bill. Flying, say, a P-51 for a couple of hours costs money.

That the military is giving every soldier in the parade $69 dollars a day per diem so they can see and do things in Dirty City is on the military and not an expense related to the parade itself.

You have to cart the busted concrete away. I suppose wires have to be moved. At points in the street where talks will turn, they are installing 1-inch-thick steel plates. They have to removed. It is a typical stupid Trump idea that he sees as honoring him, a draft dodger.

Asphalt. It is ground up, moved in dump trucks and usually reused. The steel plates are to go only where the vehicles have to turn as a precaution. In a straight line, the military doesn't expect any damage.

As I have previously pointed out, the ground pressure of an Abrams tank is about 14 psi. The ground pressure of a loaded semi-tractor is about 100 psi. The issue with AFV is that they are tracked and when turning tend to pivot in place rather than describe a smooth curve--depending on how tight the turn is--and that's were a potential issue arises.

There are zero issues with overhead cables or wiring as none of the vehicles exceeds normal height standards for electrical services.

Talk, talk, talk.

The truth will soon be known along with the total cost of Trump's birthday parade.

They have to install steel plates at several places and then remove them when Daffy's parade is done. They have to be leveled and braced underground. They do not just drop a plate and solve the problem. It is construction work that has to be reversed when Daffy's ego is satisfied.

Bullshit. The plates are the standard ones used in street construction all the time.

They're a rental item. You simply rent them for a few days from a local vendor that installs and removes them.

Recyclable.
I suppose wires have to be moved.
None.
At points in the street where talks will turn,
Talks don't tear up streets.
they are installing 1-inch-thick steel plates.
So no street damage.
They have to removed.
Easy.
It is a typical stupid Trump idea that he sees as honoring him, a draft dodger.
It is not a parade about Trump, Sybil. It's to honor the 250th anniversary of the US Army.

Asphalt, like concrete, is completely recyclable.
The steel plates are to go only where the vehicles have to turn as a precaution.
Which is a good idea.
In a straight line, the military doesn't expect any damage. Roads can easily take the weight of a tank. They aren't supermassive black holes, after all, even though Democrats think they are.
I agree.

Nicely done, but you are showing service lines on private property. On city streets, clearance for those lines is 30', since they are 1.2kv. Communications lines can be a minimum only 24' above any point on a public road.

Wanna bet on how much these idiots don't know how high a tank is?
