It is good to have a passion about your business, but turning away profitable business is usually a mistake. I think of CBGB the club that punk and new wave got started. It stood for country, bluegrass, blues, and was certainly not meant to play punk and new wave. They saw money, and went with it.

If I like heavy metal and open a club for heavy metal I will not hire New Wave, you wind up alienating your base customer and lose money in the long run. Now, if they like punk and new wave, then go for it. Some folks just love "all music" and go with that. Personally I think life is too short to pay for things you do not like, even if it "makes you money"... I like to spend life and utilize money, and am careful about the things I spend on.
