They did, one of the companies is now saying that chips from Arizona will cost 30% more than chips from Taiwan.

What they mean is they don't want to train their own employees, they want the govt. to pay for it and pay them shit wages afterward and dispose of them at the first opportunity and replace them with green card holders. That's how Silly Con Valley operates. Time they changed their sleazy labor racketeering patterns. These idiots will lay off thousands at the drop of a hat, then a year or more later snivel when they need to hire then back only to find they didn't hang around and dumpster dive or live on the streets until the companies wanted them back, they moved elsewhere, changed careers, etc.

We need to start putting more money into programs to get more skilled trade workers, we do not have enough machinists, Electricians, plumbers, Carpenters, Iron workers and more.
You can't build build major infrastructure without these people and right now we don't have enough.
And all those jobs are very good paying jobs, I am a retired electrician and I retired just over 20 years ago and back then I was earning over 35 dollars an hour , that is more more then a lot of jobs pay now.
It doesn't seem like kids today want to work.

People don't work for free, and they don't up and move around the country at the drop of a hat, just because some idiot in a suit claims they need people, and then offer shit wages, then run to the Feds and beg for stacks of green cards. They can train all the workers they need, no problem. They just don't want to and expect govt welfare programs to pay for training their employees, whom they will then dispose of with no notice at the first opportunity. They also think they should locate their plants in very high cost of living cities, like the BAy Area, where the bosses like to live, fuck their low paid employees and their having to pay $,1200 a month for one room efficiency apts.. Some companies in the Bay area had parking lots that looked like tent cities, and when the media started running stories on it forced their own workers off their properties and made them park and sleep elsewhere. lol

It takes time , in most cases at least 4 years for somebody to complete an apprenticeship, and then in some cases the people that do finish them need several more years experience on the job.
And as of right now we do NOT have enough skilled people.

Point is there are skilled people out there but there isn't enough of them and as the older ones retire there isn't going to be as many so it is time now to get people into Apprenticeships and get them trained so we have the work force we will need to build the infrastructure we will need to make everything here 100% American, until then we are going to have a shortage of skilled people.
Again it takes at least 4 years to complete an apprenticeship and then the ones that do should have some more OJT to make sure they know what they are doing.
And these types of jobs pay very very well, some Electricians are getting 50 dollars or more an hour,
