UK election is tonight; results are just streaming in

FUCK THE POLICE

911 EVERY DAY
Here are the live updated election results:

Not much use right now because they only have results from three constituencies. The results should be complete around 11-12 in real (American) time.

They have on exit poll out:

Which shows the Conservative 19 short of a majority. With NI seats they could form a majority, I believe. The LibDems actually lose three seats in this projection. Ouch.

You mean constituencies, not constituents.

I just got up from an all nighter after my last final. I'm pretty out of it.

I tried to vote earlier and the queue was over 200 strong, even at 9:55, they called the police because there were so many people pissed off at not being allowed to vote. The turnouts have been unprecedented in modern times.

And I was wrong, BTW, with 21 seats to go the Conservatives would have to deal with SNP or Plaid Cymru to do anything, and both of those parties are pretty left wing parties that would mainly be interested in pork for Scotland and Wales. At best they'd form minority government

Who are you supporting? Were you able to vote?

They locked the doors at 10:00pm, the police were called because so many people were disgusted at the officials. Some other places ran out of ballot papers, it is just fucking pathetic. There will be some serious shit raining down in the days to come.

In America, if you show up in time, they have to let you vote. I'm surprised they turn people away in the UK.

There were over a hundred people outside when they closed the doors at 10:00pm. Another polling station in Birmingham allowed everybody in and then closed the doors, there is going to be some major shit over this. The lawyers must be rubbing their hands with glee.

LibDems are being annihilated. The Conservatives are headed towards being the largest party but not having a majority (probably not even with the Unionists). Looks like it's either going to be a Conservative minority government or a Labour dominated Lib-Lab coalition.

I try not to involve myself with British politics, so I'm unaware of their party platforms. Can you explain the difference between the three Tom? Or Charver, if you decide to weight in here.

No. They're Conservatives. The LibDems and Conservatives would probably be equally able to claim being closest to your ignorant political philosophy, but you wouldn't be happy either way.
Don't try to hide it anymore WM. You know deep in your heart Libertarian is the only way you can go.

The most libertarianish result would probably be a Lib-Con coalition. The Liberals would balance the Conservatives on social issues and the Conservatives would reign in some of the LibDems more redistributive policies. Vince Cable, a brilliant economist who hails from the libertarianish market liberal wing of the LibDems, would also probably get the "Exchequer", or financial minister, position.

Such a coalition would have to be forced, though, because the Liberals want electoral reform, and Conservatives are never going to agree to that because they'd never be able to win a majority again. Also, such a coalition would be awkward and unstable and would probably fall within a couple of years.

Yep, it definitely looks like the UK is heading for a Lib-Con coalition or a Conservative minority government supported by nationalists or the LibDems. Liberal and Labour together aren't going to get enough seats for a majority, and Conservatives by themselves aren't going to get a majority either.

The performance by the LibDems in this election was simply pathetic and embarrassing.

As they are.
