Alabama politicians strike again

I live in Atlanta, but I was born and raised in Alabama. The stupidity of Alabama politicians is not to be underestimated.

The following is a a bill in the Alabama Legislature (Alabama HB231).



" SYNOPSIS:
This bill would propose an amendment to the
Constitution of Alabama of 2022, relating to public
K-12 schools, to require each local board of education
to adopt a policy requiring that The Pledge of
Allegiance be conducted to the United States flag and a
prayer consistent with Judeo-Christian values be
conducted at the commencement of each school day in
each public K-12 school.
This bill would authorize violations of this
amendment to be reported to the State Superintendent of
Education and for investigation by the State Department
of Education."

I thought that school prayer was a decided issue,
but I thought that about abortion as well.

I guess that everything is on the table in the new American dystopia.

Making children take a loyalty oath that, even if it were appropriate,
they don't even understand
is also difficult to defend without coloring outside the lines of logic.

There are schools in my area that are vastly Muslim. Christian prayers would be a bad idea.

If they want to force prayer, then they must make allowances for all belief systems.
