Trump considers pulling troops out of Germany

It is understood that the president is considering redeploying personnel to Hungary, which has maintained a close relationship with Russia

Doesn't redeployment cost a lot of money?
If Hungary welcomes the army, why not? I can tell you from experience the army was NOT welcome or appreciated in Germany in the 90’s and it was not unfounded. Army personnel had a high rate of DUI’s, drunken brawls in bars and higher crime levels in general than the average German. In other words they were trouble makers.
Most army bases have been closed down in Germany already anyway.
Besides, the level of waste was astounding when I was there.
Example: A new shopping mall was built in the Würzburg base, then the entire base was closed down a year later.
A new hospital was built at Nüremburg and the base was closed down 16 months later.
So the expense of redeployment from an area where they’re not wanted to on where they are is nothing compared to the waste they have done in the past. It’s what they do.

Sorry but the loner @Diogenes said that anecdotes are not acceptable.

trump is just getting things ready for Putin's invasion after causing Ukraine's defeat, leaving him an open path to march across Europe and claim it all as part of the new USSR.

Not if you simply remove them as they come up for normal rotation. You simply don't rotate in a new unit to replace them.
