I don't know who this is but I agree wholeheartedly. Stupid ideas like this (and those espoused by Pat Robertson) are what cause people to become victimized. While certain activity can certainly be classified as sinful by religious folks, they need to learn that the type of judgment they would like to carry out is up to God.

Edit: After re-reading I find it necessary to add that if they think that God is carrying out judgment by these earthquakes or hurricanes, that is certainly their right but it is, in my opinion, misguided to say the least and, as has been pointed out, a very dangerous mindset.

"They" don't get it from anywhere because it's not in the Qur'an. It's people like you who read these inflammatory comments on RW sites and take them as the truth. For shame.

Exactly, but let's pretend that only their religion is crazy. Robertson virtually prayed for God to fireball Orlando, because Disney was too nice to gay people. It may have once been the dominant belief in this nation that aids was a curse from God and I would guess it is still a widely held belief.

What I want to know from believers is, is God an evil bastard with no sense of justice or a clumsy fool? Why kill so many innocents? Shouldn't an omnipotent being be able to avoid collateral damage at least as well as the young men that make up our military? Or does he just not care?

It's not just Muslims. Some of the fire and brimstone "Christian" preachers are just as loony as can be. The radical Muslims will actually try to kill non-believers, the radical Christians just pray for others to die.

It's all driven by idiotic attachment of causality regarding natural happenings to the "sinful' nature of mankind.

I'm no scholar of the Koran (or how ever-the-hell you spell it), but I think the promise is for 72 mansions, each with 72 beds, each with 72 virgins...

its in the hadiths, which have the same authority as the quran, at least those approved by scholars....

the islamic scholars only argue over whether it is virgins or raisins

Dude, it lists the fricking Hadiths that they get it from. It's just stupid to ignore what the dogma says because it comes from a "rightie" site or from apostates that know the sources.

It's a "farcatic" equation to suggest that I would supply another leftie site of apologist nonsense that didn't include the Hadiths and ignored the source where people get that from. I can't believe people think you make sense when you post idiotic crap like this.

I simply searched for something in actual Hadiths or the Koran on Google that would suggest it to find out where people got the "72 virgins" crap from.

Basically, they take the verse that says that you get a pass to Paradise if you are a "martyr" then descriptions of Paradise in the Hadiths, put them together and come up with the 72 virgins crap.
