Listening to Trump, it can sometimes feel like the war in the Ukraine is ambiguous in terms of which "side" to take.
It's not. Putin is a mass murderer. He invaded a sovereign, independent nation for no other reason than the old fashioned "land grab" that we've seen from many tyrants in history. Many have died because of this. Many more are refugees. Thousands of children have been abducted. The suffering this one person has caused is incomprehensible.
And yes - that's the same guy who our President said "Putin went through a hell of a lot with me" about yesterday. Like they're frat brothers.
The rest of the world understands this, which is why we're getting mainly condemnation and ridicule from free nations & their leaders for what happened yesterday.
This isn't a tough one. It's low-hanging fruit from the perspective of morality, and a basic sense of right & wrong. The America that we've known for decades would have stood with the Ukraine, and against Putin's aggression. I have no doubt Reagan would have, and many Republicans since that time.
But the GOP is different today.
