‘We’ve been betrayed:’ Local veterans angry after being laid off by Trump administration

I have no sympathy for anyone who supports a bloated, corrupt government.

President Trump promised to reduce the size of government.

The voters elected him to reduce the size of government. You can not reduce the size of government without reducing the number of employees.

The effect on services cannot be determined over a few weeks.
They know that...There would be no need to reduce employees if unnecessary positions had been created...No school needs 15 administrators with cushy offices who do nothing, for example...beyond ridiculous...

I have no sympathy for Trump voters working in the Federal government who voted themselves out of a job.

Okay, this was during Obama, and no doubt they reimplemented it right after cheating in Biden.
You didn't research "HUD Million Obama".
Seriously, I knew about this in 2015 or so. It's a net negative for all Americans.
This does not say what you think it does.

You were probably first in line to sign up for Social Security benefits, you rely on federal inspectors to make sure your food and water are safe, and you've probably driven half a million miles on federal interstate highways.
Wrong.

I don’t draw S.S. I am retired on Civil Service.

I have no problem with taxpayers funding roads, food and water inspections.

That is not Socialist. There is no control of all goods and services.

I do have a problem with taxpayers funding homes and cars for illegals…big problem.

This does not say what you think it does.
Absolutely it does.
"Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing" is it if you care to learn about it.
I do not have links at the ready for this because the subject is a decade old, ok? :dunno:
Ho! And that site just went down fer maintenance!
RFK Jr. do that, or did DOGE?

The site is "HUD.gov".

 So you lived of the government tit, and relied on the taxpayers to pay for you and your retirement.
No, I earned my retirement by keeping airplanes from flying into each other.

I don’t rely on my Civil Service retirement. All of it, minus taxes, goes to Catholic Charities.

My wife contributes 10% to Catholic Charities.

Believe what you want, I could not care less.

I remember when that started. It made me want to leave school. And school, school was easy for me.
And I did. Took extra classes and got out.

That's a massive ego you are sporting. So your cushy government job was just more important than a NASA scientist, a DOT engineer, a Dept. of Justice lawyer. You were indispensable.

ATC is not a cushy job.

I have seen my share of emergencies…controllers vomiting on the arrival and departure room floor with a near miss.

You are ignorant if you think it compares to scientists and engineers.

Schools are not what they should be now...they will be soon.
I'm so sorry that too many kids got cheated out of the education they deserved because of greedy teacher's unions...fully supported by the DoE...
About 30 years of it. :(

trump's voters should have realized that trump was going to cut their benefits.

Yep, but they are stupid and believed it would be *other people* who got their benefits reduced or gone, not them. They need to start acting like patriots and realize that some sacrifices are necessary in order to give our billionaires fat tax cuts so they'll create jobs. **eyeroll**

^^ You sat on your ass in an air conditioned building.
You are a government employee who thinks he is in indispensable compared to other government employees

Evidence, please. The website to recruit Dr. says physicians see an average of 12-14 people a day. The same number as most primary care doctors.
Anecdotal evidence from people that I know in the profession. The VA is the depository for the lowest rank doctors who do the least amount of actual work. Having worked for a GovCo agency myself, I've seen the inefficiencies first hand. A lot is from the bureaucracy, still more from the workers themselves.
