4 Trump states are headed for layoffs, Ford CEO warns: ‘A lot of chaos’

It’s chaotic and U.S. jobs could be at stake — including in four states that voted for Donald Trump in 2024.

That’s the message from Ford CEO Jim Farley, who said Tuesday Trump’s plans for a 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico would “blow a hole” in U.S. auto industry.

“Let’s be real honest: Long term, a 25% tariff across the Mexico and Canada borders would blow a hole in the U.S. industry that we’ve never seen,” Farley said. “Frankly, it gives free rein to South Korean, Japanese and European companies that are bringing 1.5 million to 2 million vehicles into the U.S. that wouldn’t be subject to those Mexican and Canadian tariffs. It would be one of the biggest windfalls for those companies ever.”

Trump has already solidified himself as the worst jobs President in modern American history.

He has a talent for this. Jobs just do not thrive when this man is in charge.

If Trump doesn't put the same amount of tariffs on South Korea as he is putting on Canada and Mexico it will benefit GM and put a real hurting on Ford.
And Trump's Tariffs they say will add 6 to 8 thousand dollars to the price on a new car.
And the old saying still goes for one auto worker employed there are 6 to 8 other people employed in U S jobs that supply parts for the US auto industry. and now add in other people down the line, people who work in stores and people like electricians , plumbers .
With tariffs being as high as Trump wants them will hurt our economy.

Chaos and disorganization are the hallmarks of a Trump presidency.

I notice MAGA morons aren't even trying to lecture us anymore that Trump will eventually learn how to grow and mature into the presidency

Well as I said if Trump doesn't put the same tariffs on South Korea as he does Canada and Mexico it will give GM a really large advantage over Ford because Ford has plants in Canada and Mexico and GM's are in South Korea and Japan .
