NASA says 2.3% chance of 300 foot wide asteroid hitting earth in 2032

Joe Biden - "Time to put Trump in the bullseye."
Article says it would hit like a 15 megaton nuke which they say is 100 times more than hiroshima. In truth hiroshima was 15 kilotons so actually it's a 1000 times more.

feb 11 2025 NASA is making emergency preparations to deal with a ‘city-killing’ asteroid after the odds of it smashing into Earth continue to rise.

Astronomers are keeping a close eye on Asteroid 2024 YR4, which currently has a 2.3% chance of colliding with the Earth in 2032.

The 300ft wide rock is roughly the same size as the Statue of Liberty or Big Ben, and has shot to the top of NASA’s watch list after it was first discovered in December 2024.

With the ‘time-critical meteor hurtling towards our atmosphere at an alarming rate, the space agency has enlisted the help of the James Webb Space Telescope to study YR4 and gauge how much damage it would cause if it did strike our planet, the European Space Agency reports.

300 foot wide roid is big but not big enough to wipe out life on the planet. Probably wipe out kansas if it landed there. Anyway a 1 in 40 chance is concerning.

I am skeptical....I want to see analysis of what portion would survive the atmosphere.....the size it is now is certainly not what would hit land or water.

A newly discovered asteroid, 2024 YR4, has a 1.2% chance of colliding with Earth on December 22, 2032. Spotted in December 2024 by a telescope in Chile, the asteroid measures between 40 and 100 metres wide and is travelling at an astonishing 17 km/s. If it impacts, the blast could cause significant damage within a 50-kilometre radius. NASA and the European Space Agency are closely tracking its trajectory, with a critical observation window in mid-April. UN-endorsed asteroid response teams are on standby should mitigation measures be required.

Between 40 and 100 is a huge range, demonstrating that the experts are currently guessing.

Tunguska event was a comet that exploded in between 3 and 50 megatons in 1908. It exploded in the atmosphere, did not hit the ground, and still caused massive destruction. The destruction of the explosion is greater than the destruction of hitting the ground.

Luckily, it hit Siberia where almost no one lived.

We should not turn to H10 as the expert we will listen to.

Yeah, because wiping out those "dirty Joos" and their neighbors "the palestinians" is your favorite. Racist.
What goes around comes around. There are many people who are so used to mouthing the terms ' racist' and ' antisemite ' that they refuse to accept that ' Zionist ' and ' Jew ' are not synonymous. You appear to be one of them. ' Dirty Joos ' is your rhetoric, not mine.
Zionism is a foul racist doctrine of murder and ethnic cleansing. Judaism isn't. Learn.

Where are your ' racist ' comments for THIS asshole, hypocrite ?

Too bad for ' Iron Dome ' fans, eh.

If it hits earth at 17km/sec, that amounts to 750 megatons of tnt.
