Why should the Dept. of Education be retained?

Exactly. While every government agency should face bipartisan reviews, which AFAIK they always have, taking a wrecking ball to Education is not good for the nation.

No one is taking a wrecking ball to our education system. That is a dumb lie. The only thing the unconstitutional DOE does it dole out money and diminish standards.

Can you show me where the Constitution states the Federal Government should be involved in education?

We've all heard that the Trump administration might get rid of the Department of Education in its entirety. There are arguments, mostly from the Left and teachers' unions, to keep it open and funded.

A lot of the discussion has been over why it should be disestablished. I'd like to know what the arguments for keeping it funded and running are, and how those are justified.
If you eliminate the Department of Education are you forgiving all existing government backed student loans since it is the education department that administers those loans? What will the banks do when the government is no longer guaranteeing those loans and borrowers stop paying?

Examples of "DEI type policies"?

Proof of "DEI type policies" affecting education?

So if the DOE website states they are dismantling them, would you believe it then, you brainless asshat?

Now, can you show me where the Constitution states the Federal Government should be involved in education?

Speculative bullshit from an uneducated nitwit. When States were running their own, we had far better educational outcomes at less cost. That all changed after 1989.

Can you show me where the Constitution states the Federal Government should be involved in education?
Do you have solid rock evidence for that?

Why are you asking me about the Constitution? Ask SCOTUS.

As it exists now there's no argument to keep it funded and running... And if Randy Weingarten wants it to stay open that's the best reason ever for it to be retired...
Let's simply close it down then. Over half the budget of the Dept of Education goes for college loans and grants. I'm sure the banks will be happy to discover that all the loans that the government guaranteed are no longer guaranteed since you closed the Dept of Ed. The government doesn't really need that $1.7 TRILLION in student loans to be paid off, does it?

Sue them, and tack on the court/prosecution expenses if they don't pay their loans back.

What a moronic argument. Why would it make the requirement to pay back the loans moot? They made a contract, they have to honor it.

They will start collection actions in our courts of law.

The Department of Education should not only be retained, but should be the primary source in charge of education.
I don't mean lowlife fucking political appointments like Betsy DeVos and Linda McMahon.
I mean the career PhD professionals.
Elites are elite for a reason, and right wing populism is social cancer.

Leaving education to local yokels is why so many red state students are so fucking, hopelessly ignorant.
Further, funding public education with local property taxes is why education is so inequitable.
It should be funded from higher personal and corporate income taxes.

Ooo a website in line with what Trump said? Who would have thunk?

Do you have solid rock evidence for that?

Do you have any evidence they didn't? Dumbass

Can you show me where the Constitution states the Federal Government should be involved in education?

Why are you asking me about the Constitution? Ask SCOTUS.

Because it pertains to the creation of the DOE you mental midget. Of course, being an uneducated thread trolling dumbass, you wouldn't have the brain power to comprehend the obvious.

The DOE is an unconstitutional entity that should be shut down. Much like the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Health and Human services and the Department of Energy.

You might want to familiarize yourself with the document as it is a brilliant document that LIMITS what the Federal Government does and can do.

It PRESUMES that the people have inherent rights that are not given to us by politicians and places all other duties in the hands of the STATES. That is why we call it a Constitutional Republic of States.

It doesn't occur to you that they wouldn't need to post that if they didn't have those programs.

But, that's a predictable brainless response from a halfwit. You constantly prove why arguing with leftist idiots is pointless and we should just continue pointing and laughing at your ignorance and stupidity.

Now, can you show me where the Constitution states the Federal Government should be involved in education?

I welcome you to make the red states dumber than they are now.
