It might be that what is being done is trying to catch up with the Iranians/Russians and Chinese in air defense, where my sources say that we are two generations behind....that would be good......but anything patterned on the Zionist Bastards Iron dome system would be moronic.
 
We have Patriots that are old tech, very expensive, and not very useful and we have Thaad that is also very expensive and is unproven even after a lot of years.

We need cheaper and better.

Iron Dome has been working well against modern weapons. It has even shot down missiles in outer space. That would be the first known combat in space.

Iron Dome is only meant to protect a comparatively small area, say the size of NJ or Israel. It also needs to know the firing location and type of missiles beforehand. It could not be applied to the USA in general, or to non-specific enemies....

Unless, we redesigned it. That would cost hundreds of billions of dollars, and would be a complete waste of money if we never used it. It would be very useful if we did use it. So it would involve a gamble... And trump is not a brave person.

So my prediction is trump will waste a few billion on a system that does nothing, but allows him to claim he did something.

Biden had the USA help Israel to shoot down thousands of Iranian missiles, so right now Iranian air power looks like more of a joke. Russia was unable to get its air force above Ukraine, which ruled out a quick victory for them. Not to mention that Ukraine is regularly able to make minor air strikes on Moscow, and major air strikes on closer Russian territory to Ukraine. The Russian Air Force is in hiding. Again Russian air power looks like a joke.

Chinese have no experience in warfare. Their last major war was 70 years ago, so no one in their current military was involved Their last minor war was 45 years ago, so almost no one in their current military was involved. So their air power is untested. They have a huge industrial complex, that might make great air power... Or might be making simple mistakes that they cannot see.

Meanwhile, the "Zionist Bastards" have been a state of near warfare, and actual warfare for nearly a century straight.
