The idea is to make them compliant to God or else.
It's to make them more truthful under God.
Mmmmm,.....I disagree. How does it make them compliant to God by doing something he says NOT to do,...and in fact says is EVIL to do?

He could have asked.
He could have made Roberts look bad by stalling until he was ready with hand on bibles.....and I also question why I have not seen Trump calling out Roberts after the fact...and why he looked so pleased as he shook Roberts hand.He could have asked.

You are probably right about trump doing this out of incompetence, and nothing more. Napoleon was about to be crowned by the Pope, as all good Catholic Emperors were supposed to be, when he grabbed the crown out of the Pope's hand, and crowned himself. It was a statement of strength and power, or what most would say was hubris...
Attributing such thought to trump is just plain silly. he is literally incapable of the complex thought.

I think we have more agreement than you want to admit. A competent president elect would have told Roberts to wait up while he gets his Bible. Had Roberts realized how incompetent trump was, he would have slowed down and made sure that trump was ready before starting.
Neither took into account that trump is a sad old man, who cannot even do an Oath Of Office correctly, and so now we have the first president to have not taken The Oath on a Bible.
Maybe it is time to just admit the Bible was not that important in the first place?
They are both megalomaniacs, but Napoleon often had the talent to backup his actions. And he did not blame the Pope for him grabbing the crown out of the Pope's hand.
