Why did the left turn against Elon Musk?

That "the Left suddenly hates Musk" is opinion itself, not fact.

For an opinion, it's damn near universal. The Left suddenly hates Musk--their god of EV's--because he's doing conservative stuff and has cozied up to Trump the Anti-Christ.

"One cause the tech entrepreneur, 53, is particularly passionate about is "pro-natalism," a movement that encourages individuals to have larger families as a remedy to perceived population decline.

The proposed head of the "Department of Government Efficiency" in the Trump administration has fathered 12 children in total, although one of his children passed away as an infant."

Canadian singer Grimes has had an on-again, off-again relationship with the tech CEO over the years. They have three children together, who have made headlines for their unusual names.

X Æ A-Xii Musk, a boy, was born in May of 2020. Musk explained on The Joe Rogan Experience that the name is pronounced "X Ash A Twelve."

Musk and Grimes briefly separated in September 2021, but rekindled their romance and welcomed a daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, via surrogate in December 2021. According to an interview Grimes gave to Vanity Fair, the baby's nickname is "Y."

After another separation during which Musk fathered twins with Shivon Zillis, he and Grimes had another baby, Techno Mechanicus Musk, who they call "Tau," in 2022. "

...The relationship between Musk and Zilis, a 38-year-old executive at Musk's braintech company Neuralink, has been kept fairly private. The exact nature of their relationship is unknown — Time described her as Musk's "intellectual companion on artificial intelligence" in a 2023 story about the CEO's AI ventures. Zilis was seen with Musk in photos from a gala at Mar-A-Lago on Saturday, November 16, marking a rare public appearance together.

Zilis gave birth to twins Strider and Azure in 2021. The twins appeared to be at Mar-A-Lago with their parents on Saturday, per photos obtained by The Daily Mail.

Page Six
also spoke to the billionaire after the public became aware he and Zilis had had a third child in June. The name and sex of the baby has not been made public, but Musk told the outlet that the baby is not a secret, and that all of their "friends and family" know about his youngest child."

Musk could have skated like Steve Jobs and become some sort of tech messiah. Steve Jobs was an AWFUL human being, just the lowest form of scum, but he knew how to deal with consumer wants. He was a second-rate techie (which is why Woz was needed and even then Jobs fucked Woz over on their first "sale" back when they started out), but he was good with exploiting a UX niche. Musk is kind of like that. He's more of a coder and got lucky back in the early 90's with a software package that was ultimately bought out by the folks who set up PayPal. To my understanding that is the last major thing he actually DID. He just made a fuckton of money off of it and leveraged it to buy other interesting technologies.

And good for him! He popularized the EV and made it a reality! He deserves kudos for that. Just like Henry Ford deserves kudos for making the automobile a "thing" that really took off pubicly.

But like Henry Ford, Musk is a DEEPLY problematic individual. He's a professional troll who seems to never have outgrown the Junior High Boy experience of reading Ayn Rand and imagining themselves to be John Galt. Only problem is someone gave this particular junior high school boy a few million dollars and he ran with it.

So we have the modern Henry Ford: racism and all.

he's not a coder.

he actually doesn't code.

he's a bullshiter.

I could give a rat's ass about Musk one way or the other.

I believe you mean you COULDN'T give a rats ass. If you could give a rat's ass then presumably there is at least a rat's ass worth of stuff you do care about in re Musk.

Please do a quick count on your available rats asses and get back to the board as soon as you have a good total.

I can go with "could give". Space X has some merit. X has some merit, even if I don't use it.

Everything you cited was somebody's opinion. Apparently these people think lefties don't drive Teslas or support SpaceX, etc. Maybe you could find a poll; at least it would be marginally believable.

I discern what's true and what's false and then choose to go along with one or the other, mostly for the laughs.

Is that so?

I have a tip for you. I'll try the Marie Kondo method in case you get confused by too much text.

"Focus on "do" instead of "who".

Does that not spark joy?

You are so right about Jobs. I never understood his canonization. It's not wrong to point out that sometimes good or useful things come from the worst specimens of humanity.

Including that one?

Guess I have to re-read my Marie Kondo, because I don't recall her saying a whole lot about "who."

This could segue into a thread of its own, "do" vs. "who." Perhaps you can start one to enlighten us.

Fair enough. So you have sufficient excess rats asses for SpaceX and X.

I worry that if Trump gets annoyed with Musk that Musk will see his government contracts dry up PDQ (Trump is vindictive) and that will be the end of SpaceX.

She didn't say that, silly. I applied her method to explain something to you. :pke:

I still have hopes for you, despite this being a veritable visualization of your mental processes ...

Why worry about things you dreamt up that you have no control over?
