Did Shamsud Din Jabbar cross the US-Mexican border two days ago?

I heard a announcer say the truck was all electric . Is that true? Is he an environmentally conscious mass murder?
It was. Likely chosen because all EVs are heavier than their equivalent gas powered cousins. they have more mass. it's actually been a problem in the UK because they're causing more road wear than normal, needing earlier road repairs. Also causing more damage and deaths in crashes with normal vehicles because of the extra mass.

Well that is interesting. It's a POS truck. Can only two a camper trailer about 80 miles a charge. Should be the same for a heavy boat. Towing is a real reason to own a truck.
Towing is one reason. I use my truck to haul tools and materials to side jobs. A couple or more large parts bins, a crew box, ladders, conduit, wire, tools, a generator sometimes, etc. Towing is secondary. The last time I towed was like a month or so ago to haul a 24" trenching walk-behind to a job site.

Or, maybe he was thinking that using an IED he could set the main battery on fire...

Well, if I was still doing that stuff full-time as a contractor, I'd buy one of these:

R.7525f89799866f8ae33817e7e4eed6a9

You add a rack on top for carrying stuff like conduit and ladders and add some side or back ladders to get to the roof of the box.

I'm also really considering getting one of these as an OHV.

eh.... possible but what would that really accomplish? a burning vehicle stopped in the street while everyone around it is already fleeing because it just drove into a bunch of people? not exactly something that's gonna kill someone.

If he had crashed into a building and done that, the resulting fire would have been pretty horrendous. It would have spread quickly along the street and been hard to put out.

It would block access to the injured.

The DOGE will not be pleased by your assessment.
