Is keeping drugs illegal in the >U.S. really worth all the carnage this drug war is causing.If drugs were legal and heavlly regulated this wouldnt have happened.
This war on drugs is taking more lives and destroying more families then the drugs do themselves. Its time to end the failed drug policy. How many more innocent people need to die???
If you don't think that this isn't happening within the U.S. too,then you don't watch the news much.

The State Department warned everyone not to go into Mexico. These kids did anyway.
 
Bear, teabaggers are proud of the 17,000 murders we have here and the hundreds of thousands of muslims killed in collateral damage. They are not going to show a stitch of sorrow for mexican murders. Now let a little white girl go missing and you have a six month show on cable.

It's not just kids going to Mexico. Two weeks ago 3 Americans connected to the US Consulate in Juarez Mexico were gunned down. There was also an infant in the car who was not hurt. There was also an article yesterday about children of Mexican immigrants who fled the violence being followed by cartle members as they go to school here in the US. The violence has flooded Pheonix, which now has on average one kidnapping per day related to the drug trade. If legalized, the cartels would have no power here. No one is going to buy marijuana from Mexico when we grow some of the best in the world right here in the US. Legalize it and MORE americans will grow it, sell it in the US for cheaper and shut down the cartels. The drug war has FAILED. Too much good money has been thrown in after the bad. It needs to end now.

This wouldn't happen overnight. You'd see the cartels going after any home growers they find. They would, for a short time, try to make growing your own very dangerous.
 
Cartels can not freely move around the US. They sell to dealers here in the US, Soc is right remove the threat from home grown and the US artist will sensi to death the schwagg coming from Mehico.

I wouldn't doubt soc, again reduce demand from cartel's schwagg by providing legal taxable supply from American artistans cartels whither away.
How many booze bootlegers are operating compared to during prohibition.

I am not saying that it wouldn't put the marijuana cartels out of business. But to expect it to be an overnight change is naive.

They can operate in the US very easily.

Nothing is going to change overnight, don't know anybody claiming that. It may take years. But lack of quick improvement is not justification for the continued support of the Cartels.
 
After you stop patting each other on the back for having gang members in Cali, maybe you might take a shot at the point. That the Mexican cartels will be hurt by legalizing growing in the US.
