Well to take a non-partisan stance. I'm sick of this shit. How government is affectively shut down by this partisan squabling in congress.

Well yea but let's be fair. How many of W's appointments were held up? How many of Clinton's?

i did not say that both sides have not done it, it is just the reps turn

however, to be fair to the dems, the reps were holding up all of bho's appointments, including ones that were mainstream and not left wing

holding up that many appointments was preventing the government from working, not that that is such a bad idea

part of the problem is that when the reps do it they vote in a block while some dems will vote with them when the tables are turned

perhaps the true solution is to require a two-thirds vote to pass anything and a three-fourths vote to override a veto thus preventing the tyranny of a simple majority, but then we would not have social security or medicare

what ever happened to a simple majority?

oh well
