Pretty much correct. Solar and wind can't supply our electric needs now and sure as hell aren't going to do it in the future. We need nuclear backed by natural gas.

You forget about the lost energy due to remote generation and transmitting that power to the point where the car is being charged, AND the waste heat in the battery during the charge and discharge cycles (water-glycol cooled!), AND the waste heat in the motor assembly (oil cooled!).
