Remember when the Republcians were whining that Obama had done nuthing... Well thats changed!

Remember when SNL was running skits that Obama had accomplished NUTHING...

He had an ace in the hole, in ONE YEAR he delivered on one of his biggest campaign promises... Major Health Care Reform!

"THATS WHAT CHANGE LOOKS LIKE!"

The list of Democratic and Republican presidents who attempted to get Universal Coverage for All Americans is long.... OBAMA DID IT, and it sure is PISSING off the CONSERVATIVES!

Quoting the VP, huh, Jarod. This is what really saddens me about the choices we have for leaders today. You can't even hold them up (and I'm talking about both sides here...I saw the video of Bush flipping someone off) as examples to your kids. Maybe you could never do that. I really don't know but I do know that so much more stuff is known about these clowns nowadays and most of it ain't good. I saw that news clip with Biden this morning on CNBC...yep, they were making a positive out of it. Got the t-shirts and mugs already in the works. I find it apalling.

Who cares, cuss words are merely sounds. It does not bother me, I tell my kids they should not say them until they are old enough to understand proper context... but really who gives a shit...?

What does bother me is when they are used to call others names... or to insult others.

Can I get a t-shirt with this on it?

Wispering a cuss word in the ear of a friend/co-worker, trying to impress upon him what a good job he did, one thing...

Telling someone to Fuck off, or calling someone an asshole... QUite another.

WHere does the idea come from that cussing is necessarly an evil thing?

The Enlightenment. Prior to the Enlightenment, cussing was a huge part of everyone's speaking patterns. Kings, popes, theologians, commoners, merchants, you name it, people tended to have very vulgar tongues. Martin Luther had a vulgar way of speaking, and wrote a book titled Table Talk that would not be recommended as table talk today.

In the Enlightenment, people began to conceive of a civilized world in which cussing and vulgarity were deemed barbaric and medieval, and of course, unenlightened. This is why excessive swearing is generally viewed not only as uncivilized but as signs of ignorance. In the postmodern world, we have begun to revert back to pre-Enlightenment attitudes (Medieval) about cussing.

To everything there is a season, cuss words are just sounds, and are perfectly accecptable in certian situations.

Wispering to a friend or co-worker who you know will not be offended... in an attempt to emphisize a point!!! No Problem.

Telling someone to "fuck off", uncool!

Calling someone an "asshole", uncool!

Unless you agree with them politically and then it's ok right?

The Bible says that its wrong to say, shit or fuck? Hell, I have seen the word ASS mentioned in the Bible!

It's talking about a donkey, Jarod. A donkey. The name for a donkey got hijacked somewhere along the way to refer to someone's derrière....or a democrat.....you can pick one.

There is language that is consider vulgar and innappropriate. As a [fundamental] Christian I try to refrain from using such.

Col. 3:8 - But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

Nobody else found it racist for Joe to tell little ol Obama that this was "a big fucking deal"?

Like Obama didn't know? WTF was that?

Hey there little feller, I don't know if YOU know it, but this is a big fucking deal!

To me "filthy language of your mouth" is hatefull language, not particular words. So, "Fuck you" should not be said to someone... but "This is a big fucking deal" is okay.

THere is nuthing filthy about sounds with assigned meanings. Its the meaning that can be filthy, not the sound. Much like the word ASS can be used to mean a Donkey... the word FUCKING can be used to convey emphisis on the topic.
