Men are the overwhelming perpetrator of child sexual abuse. Far more girls are molested than boys. So it is actually more common for a pedophile to be straight than gay.
 
The Catholic Church often operates like a mafia family.

Also, they belive that they have a mandate from God and thus are above the laws of nations. I suspect he would try to avoid the subject, but if pressed, the pope would acknoledge as much.
 
But queers make up a much lower percentage of the population. So do the math, they are much more likely to be pedophiles.

But homosexuals are not pedophiles. The definitions of the two are very different.

Homosexuals do not harm anyone by being gay or by having a relationship. Pedophiles always harm those they molest.

One is severely detrimental to society. One is a productive part of society.

Just because you want them to be seen as the same has no bearing.



The church officials responsible for covering for these child molesters should be prosecuted for aiding and abetting.
 
I never said they were, but the fact is that more queers are pedophiles then regular folks. Therefore there is a correlation, in spite of you wanting that not to be true.

Reread the OP and then try and explain why you started on your typical anti-gay rants and insults?

You are trying to throw the spotlight on gays instead of it being on the Catholic Church where it belongs.



Also, if all of those males having molested male children are gay, then the gay population is much higher than you want to admit.

According to the study I linked, one in five males have been sexually abused by the age of 18. According to the 2000 census, there were 138.1 million males in the US. So 27.62 million males were sexually abused. Only 14% of the males being abused were abused by women, which means 23,753,200 males were sexually abused by men. By the 2000 census there were 138.1 million men and 143.4 million women in the US, for a total population of 281.5 million people. 23,753,200 is 8% of the total population.

Back to the OP, the church is not punishing the high ranking officials who covered for the priests who molested these children.

Those who covered for the pedophile priests should be prosecuted and the church should either excommunicate them or be held responsible for supporting them.

Consentual homosexuality is not illegal while pedophilia, regardless of hetero or homosexuality is illegal. This cover up is as disgusting and criminal (IMO) as the pedophile perversion itself and those who participated have caused themselves to become as dirtied by these acts as those who performed them. They expanded and allowed for there to be more victims by shoveling Priests off to new diocese...

Bullshit! The catholic church certainly has not coddled gays. And these molestations and the coverup of the molestations have been going on longer than the gay rights movement has been out in the open.
 
Here is my opinion... for what its worth.

Prejudice against many forms of sexuality leads many to hide the reality of there sexuality. Hidden sexuality is soul destroying, it WILL find a way to get out, and when one is hiding it or trying to keep it from coming out, it often comes out in destructive ways. Often a convient target of hidden sexuality ends up being a child.

The combination of prejudice against Gays and other forms of sexuality inherant in the Chatholic religen and access to children by clergy leads to what seems to be an excess of this type of harmfull sexual release. Add in the Catholics arrogant desire to hide such stuff and you have a huge scandal.

Prejduce against sexuality is not only against homosexuals, but, for example, prejudce against all kinds of sexuality, including unmarried sex, leads many to repressed sexuality and this leads many to sexuality that comes out in hidden and unhealthy ways!
 
The Church certainly has coddled queers. This has been a subject of much contention among lay Catholics for decades. Can anyone doubt that The Southern Man, if he had it in his power, would deal with these perverts with anything other than wrath, vengeance and finality?

I belive historically the Catholic Church has forced Gay people into the colset and tried to impose shame upon them.
