Oh believe me as soon as the Red states aren't getting billions from the Federal government ( Blue states ) and have to either raise taxes or cut programs for the poor and lower income people and the elderly they will start crying like babies.

They failed to convict him, and that's the important part. Bringing charges means NOTHING, just as it did with Bill Clinton.

And just maybe IF Senators like McConnell had kept the OATH they took to be impartial jurors and voted on what the evidence showed we wouldn't be in this mess we are today.
McConnell even came out and said YES the evidence did show Trump did what he was charged with but he was not going to vote to remove Trump from office and got several other Senators to do the same thing .
There should be a way to sanction them or something for breaking that oath.
YOU take an OATH you should HAVE to stand behind it and NOT break it.

Maybe if the Democrats hadn't made their impeachment findings one-sided without Republican participation in the process it might have worked. That would mean though that something like 75% + of the so-called facts and findings lead by Adam Shitt would have been tossed in the process as they were either tenuous or outright fabricated lies.

As Alan Dershowitz, no fan of Trump pointed out in his defense during the first impeachment attempt, the charges brought were in a word, bullshit. Put another way, the Democrats from the day Trump was elected wanted a conviction, not a trial nor did they need any facts. They were fine with an end to a means. It, start to finish, was two parts Stalin, one part Kafka.
