Who do you trust with your health care?

The conservatives are making a big deal about not trusting the government with Health care. Then who do you trust? There's only two groups you can look to. The Government or the Insurance companies. Personally I prefer the Government handle it rather than greedy corporate insurance companies who's only concern is their profit margin. The corporations have proven that they are unreliable. So we need regulations to control corporate greed.

Profit margins for most health insurance cariers are running about 3%, and most companies are dependable, in spite of being over-regulated now. Look at the Post Office v. Fed-Ex and UPS. Who'd more likely to lose your package? Who can deliver it not just across the country, but around the globe?

If that is so why is health care so expensive in this country. We have the most expensive health care in the world.

Fed ex is a branch of the U.S. postal system. They do pretty good at delivering packages.

Our system is expensive because we get great service and we have the most innovation. It would be a lot cheaper if there was tort reform and doctors didn't feel obliged to practice defensive medicine.

FedEx is a private corporation and has no affiliation whatsoever with the US Postal Service.

government? you mean the one that raids innocent civilians homes for a weed?
that kills innocent civilians for weed? or that government that feels entitled to steal private property because the citizen didn't pay a protection fee?

which fucking government would you be referring to?

Who gets great service? Ill tell you who. Rich people. In this country the poor get the shaft.

pure unadulterated bullshit. Our system is so expensive now because insurance companies RULE over the practices of modern medicine. If you simply let doctors be doctors and run their own practice, you'd see costs drop precipitously.

And your saying that the fucking insurance companies are any better?

People who pay for great service get it. People who don't pay have to wait in line at the emergency room, but they still get good service.

I know a kid who's 20 and didn't pay for insurance, snorted coke and had a brain hemorrhage two weeks ago. He's being cared for 24/7 by some very competent doctors, who may actually salvage a life for this kid. He'll likely be in the hospital for 6 months or more. His Dad's a PA and can vouch for the quality of his care. ALL PAID FOR WITH MEDICAID. :pke:

What is absolutely AMAZING to me is, the same Libtards who are moaning and complaining about government possibly listening in on a phone conversation, are ready to allow government into the doctor's office with us during a health exam! They don't trust government to protect us from terrorists without usurping our rights, but they trust them to handle the most intimate aspects of our life, our health? It just blows my mind!

Insurance companies are private enterprise capitalist ventures, they sell us health insurance to make a profit, just as every business sells a product or service for profit. Last year, health care companies made a whopping 4% profit! For those of you afflicted with Pinheadedness, that is 4 cents out of every dollar... OMG, we need to do something about their GREED!

Now, the really great thing about capitalist enterprise... it relies on the consumer being satisfied with their product and service. If the consumer is not happy, the capitalist enterprise doesn't profit at all, they lose money and eventually have to go out of business. The problem with government-run health care, is there isn't any obligation to satisfy the customer, it doesn't matter because the government doesn't have to make a profit. So--- NOW, when you have a problem with a medical claim, you deal with an insurance agent, and if they don't provide satisfaction, you can go to the state insurance board, and eventually, most complaints are ultimately resolved to the satisfaction of the consumer. When Government takes it over, you will have no outlet for your complaints, and the government really won't be concerned if you are satisfied or not. You've completely given up your right as a consumer to complain.

For some reason, you somehow TRUST them to not be that way, and to actually give a shit about your health care needs! We can trust the government to do the right thing, can't we? Like warrantless wiretaps and spying on citizens? They wouldn't knowingly violate any of our rights, would they? Of course not! They are there to protect us from harm!

Personally I don't think that some ones health should be placed in the hands of corporate greed.

"Keep your laws off my body!"

Isn't that what the Libtard gals said about the Right to Life movement? Where are they now?

Greed is good. They fight each other like dogs for the privilege to serve you.

[sarcasm]Just like when you go to the DMV to get your license renewed. [/sarcasm]

Yep, it happens all the time.

I trust that I can make decisions about my health care far better than the government can. Who do I trust? Myself. I can find and pick the best insurance that suits my needs in the best manner. What we need is cost reform. This bill actually includes the IRS to govern portions of the bill... Not even close to a good idea to increase the power of the IRS into these decisions.
