WASHINGTON (AP) — White House press officials altered the official transcript of a call in which President Joe Biden appeared to take a swipe at supporters of Donald Trump, drawing objections from the federal workers who document such remarks for posterity, according to two U.S. government officials and an

internal email obtained Thursday by The Associated Press.

Biden created an uproar
earlier this week with his remarks to Latino activists responding to racist comments at a Trump rally made by the comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who referred to the U.S. island territory of Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage.”

Biden, according to a transcript prepared by the official White House stenographers, told the Latino group on a Tuesday evening video call, “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters — his — his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American.”

This may violate the Presidential Records Act of 1978 but, of course, no one will be prosecuted.

"The transcript released by the White House press office, however, rendered the quote with an apostrophe, reading “supporter’s” rather than “supporters,” which aides said pointed to Biden criticizing Hinchcliffe, not the millions of Americans who are supporting Trump for president."

The president said, "“The only garbage I see floating out there is his (either "supporters" or "supporter's")...

Why are you so sure which it was? There is absolutely no way to tell from the vocal...or intonation.

The president says he was referring back to the remarks by Hinchcliffe...which would make it "supporter's." You want to suggest he actually meant to refer to the garbage heap totality of fucking scumbags who make up his supporters...which would make it "supporters."

I have no idea of which it was...and neither do you. So what is your mutton-headed point?

Heels Up Harris had to whitewash the president’s clear statement.

Will anyone at the White House who violated the Presidential Records Act of 1978 be prosecuted?

Not with this administration but perhaps, the next.

pEarl believes that this truthful remark will win #TRE45ON the election. And erase years and years of Trump's bigotry, racist, misogynist, hateful comments.

he didn't mean all the trash was the trash of trump supporters.

he meant the trumps supporters were trash.

your continual lying and word games is why you're losing.

you think you're clever but you're just condescending assholes.

We know what little Joey meant. He hates the Democratic Party for throwing him under the bus, he's giving them the Fickle Finger of Fate. Paybacks are a wonderful thing to watch.

Basically Yes....The Garbage joke was to be used as the main reason Trump lost.....Biden fucked that up....now a new narrative will need to be found.

They changed "are" to "is" as well. "The only garbage I see out there are his supporters" to 'The only garbage I see out there is his supporter's'... (second one isn't a quote, it doesn't merit quote remarks). The sentence becomes extremely awkward and pResident Mushmouth Braindead wouldn't be able to get it out without derailing into a fictional account of his father watching gay people groping each other and calling it love.

I do not know if Joe Biden meant "supporters" or "supporter's"...and neither do you, Damo.

Nor does anyone else posting in JPP.

"The only garbage I see out there are his supporters"

That's declarative. (A declarative sentence is a regular, ordinary sentence—it declares, it states).

We heard what he said and now the far left loons are telling us that we didn't.

This is true desperation...panicking. .

You do too... Pretending that when he said "are his supporters" it REALLY means "is his supporter's" is total rubbish. The altered transcript is literally an admission.

We know, you know. And, for Trump, this is even better than "the deplorables" from HillBillary Whinington.
