Does anyone else find these a little disturbing??

I saw a documentary on that last week. Apparently taken together over time, the incidence figures aren't really that unusual.

Then we have to realize that any disturbance along a fault will place added stresses on other places along that fault, and that if the stresses are great enough, or (like a weak link in a chain) if there's a weakness at some spot, there will be a quake at that site.

Apparently the fault that lies through Haiti is also connected through other parts of the caribbean (big surprise) and Kingston, Jamaica in particular is considered a certainty for a major quake within the next one to three years.

I'm curious if we're drawing close to California's "big one".
 
a major earthquake results from an imbalance in tectonic plates.....and the changes that occur because of a major earthquake causes an imbalance elsewhere.....
 
i read today that some scientists believe that earthquakes haven't really increased in frequency or size, rather, that we have more people living in EQ zones

don't know if its true, but that is what i read

That would be if YOUR world comes to an end.
Therefore you should sign over all your property and bank accounts to me NOW; because you might get the calling at any time. :clink:
