unbelievable....

I would have guessed that unions were born in the coal fields of Pa. and W. Va.
When unions successfully raise the price of labor, employers will purchase less of it. Thus, unions are a major anticompetitive force in labor markets. Their gains come at the expense of consumers, nonunion workers, the jobless, taxpayers, and owners of corporations.

According to Harvard economists Richard Freeman and James Medoff, who look favorably on unions, “Most, if not all, unions have monopoly power, which they can use to raise wages above competitive levels” (1984, p. 6). Unions’ power to fix high prices for their members’ labor rests on legal privileges and immunities that they get from government, both by statute and by nonenforcement of other laws. The purpose of these legal privileges is to restrict others from working for lower wages.

Well, they gotta try something. Conservatives have never forgiven the "coloreds" in Detroit for the 60s riots, and republicans and their phony corporate NAFTA free trade enablers in both parties never could stand the fact that Detroit was ground zero for the rise of powerful labor unions that created and sustained a strong american middle class, and an empowered unionized blue collar work force. So the destruction of Detroit by the bankers and the corporate free traders was always in the cards.

And of course your an asshole liar in implying the riots in Detroit had anything to do with Conservatives or Republicans or NAFTA or unions....but then everyone already knows your an asshole liar so there is no need for me mention it....

Thanks for admitting that liberals and Democrats can't create or run businesses. You need us conservatives and Republicans to run things.

The reality is that Detroit was taken over by unions and Democrats, and just like many others in that situation die a slow agonizing death.
