See stupid, unlike you I READ the thread ENTIRELY before I post a response...that way I don't make painfully obvious errors like you do (and no one but your fellow neocon numbskulls buys your slander about Jarod). Unlike you neocons, I don't parrot the party dogma....me being an Independent voter and all.

Unlike the MSM, the alternative news services and progressive radio stations have been racking up Obama's flip/flops and capitulations..and how they are detrimental to the country and a betrayal to his voter base. Bottom line: if in the next 3 years he doesn't make the proper changes (and remember, this is an EXTENSION, NOT a permanent enactment), he won't get my vote.

It is NOT a violation of the Constitution for the government to provide vital national security. The enemy we are dealing with, doesn't have a State Department, no dignitary we can work with, no territorial boundaries we can send spies to, and no regard for traditional warfare. alQaeda effectively used our system of freedoms against us on 9/11, and most of what they have accomplished is from exploiting our own liberties and freedoms to their advantage, and you're idea is that we should just let them continue to do that, because it's better than enacting some measure to deal with them and stop it. It just doesn't seem to matter to you one bit, that they can organize and plot a terror attack through emails and phone calls, and we can't stop them because the government might accidentally overhear you talking to Aunt Betty about the family picnic, and that would violate your Constitutional rights! To you, it's better that alQaeda can launch terror attacks and kill thousands of innocent Americans, than to make the relatively small sacrifice to privacy in order to prevent it.

The government is RESTRICTED from certain actions without obtaining a properly obtained warrant. The bullshit machinations of the premise that the constitution only applies to American citizens is the totalitarians wet dream of power.

I agree wholeheartedly. I am willing and ready to take on the responsibility, to be less secure, to fight for this politically and if it becomes necessary physically, so that my kids and future generations can have the same individual freedom I used to have, I will always be willing.

And I will do this regardless of what political party says it is okay to take my freedoms so that they can "keep me safe".

The Patriot Act has not infringed one iota on your rights, or the rights of ANY law-abiding American citizen, and if it did, there is a mechanism in place to deal with that, it's called a U.S. Federal Court! Believe me, if people were getting their Constitutional rights trampled, there WOULD be some cases being filed there!

And they STILL ARE restricted in most all cases. How can our "rule of law" (the Constitution) apply to people who are not on American soil? Especially, people who are actively trying to destroy America through acts of war against it? I don't understand this logic... we have to give Maranda rights to our military enemies? It makes NO sense whatsoever, and is tantamount to tying our hands behind our back and trying to fight an enemy that is nearly impossible to beat with BOTH hands!
