SM claimed that some holidays were made up and had been made up recently. But he refused to give me any length of time a holiday had to be around before it was to be accepted.

Yet, colleges receiving government funds (taxpayer money) are building "foot baths" on campus to accommodate Mulsims in observing their religion...a particular religion....The Islamic religion

No I'm saying that Christianity is an inherent part of the Founding of the US. The fact that Christianity is a tolerant religion is why we have Jews, Muslims and Christians all living together here without blowing each other up like they do in the Middle East.

They may have been just recently made up, but that makes them no less legitimate than any other religious holiday. That is exhibit two in my case that Right wingers only believe that the religious beliefs of the majority are the only ones that count. This guy is on your side Damo. Whether L'Enfant had fantasies of a huge national church or not isn't really much more than an academic discussion of a person of the times. It has no bearing on the separation of church and state either.

What I said was that Kwanzaa was made up recently, and to segregate certain portions of the population, not to celebrate goodwill and brotherhood as the National Holiday of Christmas does.

WinterBorn asked SouthernMan about Wiccans having displays on the courthouse lawns, and Southernman elected to avoid the question.
