Are any JPP geezers missing this morning? Have all the elderly MAGAts or nutjobs like Nomad checked-in?

Clearly this man is guilty and shouldn’t have had a gun since he is emotionally unstable enough to shoot an old woman multiple times. He lies about being threatened as the dash cam proves. I have dash cams on all my cars in case of accidents or something interesting happening in front of me. Does anyone else?

81-year-old charged with murder of Uber driver he mistakenly believed was a scammer, police say
An 81-year-old Ohio man is charged with murder after he shot a female Uber driver he mistakenly believed was working with a scammer and attempting to extort him, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

William Brock shot Loletha Hall several times outside his South Charleston home on March 25, according to a criminal complaint. Hall was taken to a local hospital where she died…

… When 61-year-old Hall arrived in her Uber at Brock’s residence, he shot her multiple times, the release states.

Brock believed Hall had a connection to the scam caller and would kill him and his family, according to a 911 call he made after shooting her, authorities said.

Police released dashcam video obtained from Hall’s vehicle of Brock confronting her outside his home…

… According to the news release, she made no demands of Brock other than to ask about the package she was sent to retrieve.

Brock was arrested and charged with murder as police saw no active threat presented by Hall during the encounter, and Brock failed to contact authorities for assistance, the sheriff’s office said.

Brock pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder and posted his $200,000 bond on Wednesday, according to court documents.

I hope he spends the rest of his wretched life in prison too?!! I hope that murder charge is first degree too!

It’ll be second degree murder and a criminal mental asylum is a good place for him to spend the rest of his life given he lives long enough to go to trial.

At least his right to a gun was not infringed.

It looks like he had a SA pistol which means he’d have to cock it each time he fired. That won’t play in his favor in court.

His best plan for both him and his family is to write an apology letter and take the honorable way out. Otherwise his Life savings will be spent on lawyers and he’ll still end up going to prison for the rest of his life

He stole her phone to keep her from calling 911, and then murdered her for shouting out for help. Someone who really was defending himself would want the police called, and would support everyone calling out for help.

The scammers that brought these two together are the ones that really need arrest and trial...

The scammer needs to be charged with murder, as does the actual murderer who pulled the trigger. The response to a crime is not to murder an innocent person.

Sure, arrest them too, but why do you think the old geezer should go free?

I made no comment on his actions, but the truly evil parties are the ones who were pulling the phone scam that resulted in this happening at all. Without them, he wouldn't be facing a murder charge and she would still be alive.

Actually you did with your wording:

Not also need to be arrested but "are the ones who really need arrest..."

Yes, the scammers should be charged with murder too since they set up this confrontation and, given the content, seem to have wanted violence.

While I understand why you sympathize with the geezer shooting an old black woman, the fact remains this madman was holding a single action pistol and shot her several times. His actions were deliberate. He should die in prison.

The scammers may not exist. My Mom worked in an assisted living center that was more a nursing home than anything. She'd deal with residents who would exaggerate similar things and act out against staff.

My understanding someone called the Uber driver and told her to pick up a package at that address. Another call was to the violent geezer trying to extort money out of him. Regardless, that doesn't justify shooting an unarmed woman trying to get away.

I just realized this isn't far from where I was born and lived till I was 4.
