About those innocent Palestinian civilians

Hi, I'm Jesus.

I'm a self-hating jew, and the first christian apparently, because I told others jews that their shit does in fact stink.

:nolovejesus:

Not destroy Gaza. Hamas may be a semi-official government, but it has a presence in the West Bank, Refugee camps in Lebanon, and capitols like Doha, Qatar, and Cairo. Most of the attackers fled.

So what should Israel have done after the October 7th attack?

If Indians from the Navajo Nation Reservation were firing rockets into Flagstaff etc for the last 5 yrs because they wanted land back.. and went into Flagstaff and slaughtered 1200+ men women and children

The Navajo Nation Reservation would not be around any more! We would not put up with it!

But you expect Israel to put up with it

On 6 and 9 August 1945, the United States detonated two atomic bombs over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki respectively. The bombings killed between 129,000 and 226,000 people, most of whom were civilians...

It took two Atomic Bombs to end WWII. Japan wasn't about to surrender before that. War is hell...

I can't even fathom that our nation dropped atomic bombs on innocent people.

How can any nation engaging in that have any kind of moral high ground?

Why do so many of my fellow Democrats refuse to understand that the Palestinians hate us and would happily kill us were they able?
This sympathy for them is completely irrational.

Of course. We should be celebrating starving children by the hundreds. WTF is wrong with you?

What's your point? That is practically ancient history at this point. And Hitler was trying to take over the world.

It's a completely irrelevant analogy.

Not from the viewpoint of Israel. Hamas, the government of Gaza wants to takeover Israel and wipe it off the face of the planet.

Such problems are part of the nature of war. You start one, and the other side imposes a blockade on you because they can, expect shortages of everything in the economy you can't make or procure locally. Nothing new there.

Hiroshima was a storage depot for the army (communications, etc.), Nagasaki was a second choice, because the first choice was cloud covered.

Moral high ground? Do you have any idea what the Germans and Japanese did to POWs? The ones they didn't torture and kill? The devastation they left in their paths? How many cities were destroyed in WWII before we dropped the bomb?

In fairness, you're not the first to ever ask that question.

The Twin Towers absent from the Manhattan skyline will color my view of Muslims for the rest of my life,
even though the ones that I've known personally have been pretty nice people.

I've no reason to believe that the ones in the Middle East are nice people.
