Lol…this is an example of taking something Trump says and running with it to some sort of political “Gotcha!” I listened to the whole speech and that is a speech that will resonate with lots of people. Even (maybe especially) the part of the speech being referenced in this post. The people that will resonate with are those who believe, just like Trump, that certain criminals who are in jail/prison are not to be considered “people.”
I mean, he clearly identified that he was talking about MS-13 members who were in jail and were being released to come here (and you can argue the authenticity of that statement…I don’t know it it’s true or not) and said “if you even want to call them ‘people,’ I don’t…” Normal people get that he isn’t even talking about your ordinary, run of the mill, illegal immigrant.”
One guy said that such “causes him to see red.” People keep holding this type of stuff up as all that is wrong with Trump and they might just see red in November.
I've said I'm a lifelong Republican and didn't vote for Trump in the prior two elections and won't for him in this one (no need to rehash the reasons why). But even though I really strongly dislike him, I agree with your statement above. Especially that people rush to show his statements without at least giving the context to which him made them. Even with context I don't care for many things he says but to your point, why do they feel the need to do that? Even Nomad made reference to it the other day. It's like they are trying so hard that the effect could likely backfire as you stated.
