Agree. Maybe we should stop calling non-STEM subjects "liberal arts." The word "liberal" always causes RWers to go into instant spasms. What about Life Skills/Enhancement?

You’re welcome. They also like to make a decent living . Sure there’s actually a 0.000001% that do well in life. Same as high school dropouts. I personally knew Al Copeland who started Popeye’s Fried Chicken, a high school dropout.
Odds are better, much better if you work your ass off in college studying a STEM curriculum. But even that is no guarantee. It’s only a basis for a start. Odds are if one has the work ethic at a young age to to handle the rigors of a STEM curriculum, he/she will be more successful in life. But you know that.

"Liberal arts" as an area of study has nothing at all to do with political parties. It's merely a way to label courses that aren't STEM. It includes nursing, teaching, psychology, literature, music, foreign language, speech/communications, sociology, anthropology, art/painting/sculpture, graphic design, game design, political science, philosophy, religion/theology, etc.

Sadly the idiot MAGATs see only the word "liberal" and have a knee-jerk reaction to it.

It's usually people who never went to college who are angry at liberal arts.

When I was in college, it seemed extremely rare that chemistry majors would sit at a table and snicker about theater majors and history majors.

I don't think rote memorization was really the point of college. It's supposed to teach you critical thinking, how to do independent research, how to speak and write well, and to develop self discipline and social networking skills that serves one the rest of their lives.

Now that’s ridiculous to make a blanket statement such as that. I know CPAs that absolutely love what they do. Mine does. She tells me that every year when I meet her before signing my tax forms.
The overwhelming number of ‘professional historians’ are school teachers. Most every school teacher I’ve ever known complains about their salary, how many hours they put in during the school year , the lack of discipline in the classroom and lack of support from parents and administrators.

Personally, I wouldn’t want to be either one.
