Good riddance to her and senator Manchin too! Sinema will not be missed, I guess she seen the writing on the wall that she could not win re-election in Arizona?!!

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, an Arizona independent, announced Tuesday she will retire at the end of her term this year, blaming growing partisanship and mudslinging in Washington for driving her decision to not run for reelection.

“I believe in my approach, but it’s not what America wants right now,” Sinema said, in a video announcing her decision.

Sinema has long been a high-profile and influential figure in the Senate, frequently working to broker compromise between Democrats and Republicans.

She formally left the Democratic Party in 2022 to register as a political independent, telling CNN’s Jake Tapper at the time, “I’ve never fit neatly into any party box. I’ve never really tried. I don’t want to.”

“Removing myself from the partisan structure – not only is it true to who I am and how I operate, I also think it’ll provide a place of belonging for many folks across the state and the country, who also are tired of the partisanship,” she said in that interview.

Most recently, Sinema served as a key negotiator, along with Republican Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma and Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut, for a major bipartisan border deal that was intended to be paired with a foreign aid package with assistance for Ukraine and Israel.

Senate Republicans initially demanded that any foreign aid package be passed along with border measures, but ultimately turned against the border deal and blocked it amid harsh criticism of the package from former President Donald Trump. The Senate went on to pass a foreign aid package with aid for Ukraine and Israel without border provisions, but House Speaker Mike Johnson has said he does not plan to bring the bill to the floor and many House Republicans oppose further aid for Ukraine.

GOP Rep. Ken Buck on retiring from Congress:

“We’re at a time in American politics, that I am not going to lie on behalf of my presidential candidate, on behalf of my party. And I’m very sad that others in my party have taken the position that, as long as we get the White House, it doesn’t really matter what we say.”

I rest my case. You can't trust the Republiclowns. They lie. Their inquiries are bullshit.

Good riddance to both of them. They were Dems in name only.

Don't buy into the Democrats' Lies and Deceit.

This is one thing among many that's wrong with the GOP cult followers. You lemmings are letting the Corrupt Private Citizen tell (not suggest, tell) your elected officials what to do, and they listen.

True independents both. Looking out what’s best for the country knowing full well it was political suicide . Both parties want to destroy the country. That’s their ONLY goal. They just have different philosophies on how to accomplish it.
And Manchin is at an age where he should enjoy retirement while he can. You gotta respect that. Why Dump and Brandon continue to make fools of themselves until they croak is beyond me.

Gotta wonder who threatened her and how....the Swamp owns the intel agencies, and is willing to kill.....notice how Mitch announced he is leaving almost immediately after his sister in law turned up dead.

She was a registered Dem before she changed to Independent. But I agree that if you feel nothing is working, best to bow out and let someone else have a crack at it.

It was Biden that demanded Ukraine and the border be linked.

"Biden Tied Ukraine Aid to Border Security, and It Backfired ...

The senate's Stand alone Border bill was horrible. It did nothing to stop the flood of Biden's parolees. "Trump stopped it" is a conspiracy theory.

Biden has the power to reinstate "remain in Mexico" and he simply refuses to do so. Biden sold off the rest of the wall sections as scrap metal.

Way to miss the point. This border bill was negotiated by one of the most conservative members of the Senate. Both sides got something out of it, even if they expected more. But when corrupt private citizen trump spoke up and said "don't pass this bill and give Biden a victory," suddenly it was dead. I guess even trump thought it was a good bill if he thought it would give Biden a victory. Nobody in your party had the balls to go against corrupt private citizen trump for interfering in the business of Congress. It shows how willing you all are to let this raving lunatic take complete control of your senses.

I googled your quote ... "No results found".

A vote of 49 to 50 is Not bipartisan. Stop lying. :palm:

Just stop lying to millenials and gen Z, you wrinkled old, greedy ass boomer. :palm:

The border bill is horrible. Trump has no veto power. You have no good reason Not to reinstate "remain in Mexico".

Bernie Sanders Gives 3-Word Reply When Asked If He'll Miss Kyrsten Sinema

This thing voted against a $15 an hour federal minimum wage too?!!

Stephen Colbert on Tuesday asked Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) if he’ll miss Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.), shortly after she announced she will not run for reelection.

“Not at all,” Sanders told the “Late Show” host.

When asked to explain, Sanders recalled how Sinema blocked elements of Democrats’ Build Back Better package during the pandemic.

“We had 48 people in the Democratic caucus prepared to transform this country on behalf of the working class of America,” he said. “Two people ― Sinema being one, [Joe] Manchin the other ― refused to support us. We couldn’t pass it. So no, I will not miss Senator Sinema.”

Sinema and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), who is also retiring from the Senate, repeatedly blocked key parts of President Joe Biden’s legislative agenda, including the broader, earlier iteration of the Build Back Better initiative, which faced unified Republican opposition in the evenly divided Senate.

That's because my quote was a paraphrase. :palm: Here's what he said:

"...Trump has also acknowledged political motivations in seeking to block the bill to deny Biden another bipartisan legislative accomplishment. A Border Deal now would be another Gift to the Radical Left Democrats,” Trump said in a statement on Thursday. “They need it politically.”

I didn't say anything about voting, you ignorant fool. Negotiating the bill was a bipartisan effort and Lankford was the lead negotiator. The others were a Dem and an Independent.

*incredulous look* trump is a PRIVATE CITIZEN, of course he has no veto power! Lay down the crack pipe, you've lost enough brain cells already.

Of course, you used Quotes and you LIED ... to the Gen Z and Millenials, you greedy old selfish boomer. Just stop lying. :palm:

Trump said he wanted a border bill, but it had to be "perfect" and the new one was "meaningless". Do you want to censor that, Christienazi?

"Officials ... notably did not accuse the former president of trying to kill the Senate border deal that Biden aides have been negotiating for months."

"Biden aides know a Senate deal is likely dead on arrival in the House,"

If Dems were serious, Biden would reinstate "remain in Mexico". But Dems like you do not want that. Duh.

Is private citizen Trump not allowed to speak critically of a bill or your messiah? That is some really nazi shit you are calling for.
